The nights are drawing in so it means not being up so late to shoot the sunset. Alas the weather is closing in too and making it less and less likely that the sunset will be clear of cloud.
In this particular shot the sky had been clear just moments before as I watched and waited for the sun to descend to the horizon when out of nowhere these ominous looking black giants appeared and swallowed up the light. The air changed, as if oppressed by their presence, and cold breath rushed in to push away all the warmth. The smell of the world moved from the sweet aroma of a summer meadow to the sharp bitters tones of damp leaves and pine and with a deep breath and a sigh I acknowledged to myself that the season was well and truly over...
Taken in Bainton, East Yorkshire after finding a place to park and take photographs of this unusual pink sunset.

It rained nearly every day of our Upper Peninsula trip, but the storms passed quickly, enabling us to enjoy every day.
Taken at the Lower Marquette harbor, near the Lower Ore Dock.
The city of London under the traditional rain clouds, lit up by the setting sun. I don't normal process this much, not sure if I like it or not!
Driving across country, we hadn't noticed this black cloud developing as the fields were still in sunshine. A sudden flash of lightening and loud rumble of thunder had us rushing to park up and get some photographs before the rain came - I wasn't quick enough to capture the lightening!
A long boat or barge on a lovely stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal. We set off walking along the towpath in the sunshine and ended up getting very wet.
There were some terrific cloud formations yesterday when I was playing golf at Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire. Fortunately it did not rain.

Stokesay Castle, a late 13th century fortified manor house near Craven Arms in Shropshire. Visible from the main Shrewsbury to Hereford rail route, it is exceptionally well preserved, with restorations over the centuries very sympathetic to the original.

This shot is taken in the northern part of Sweden at a place called Storuman. The picture is overlooking lake Storuman that connects to the "river of Umeå".
It was a stormy day with a lot of thunderstorms and I tried to head out to shoot the scene between the multiple heavy showers of rain the fell down that day.
The picture is taken with a Nikon D7200 and Sigma 18-35 art lens. I used Formatt-Hitech firecrest filters for polarisation effect and long exposure.

Do you know our earth is a mess
All the wars for nothing, it never ends
Everybody deserves a chance
All the souls, all the souls, can you hear them cry?
That you livein peace does not mean
It's okey to ignore all the pain
I see children joining the stars
Solders walk towards the dark, let me ask
Can you justify all the eyes
That will never see daylight
Give me one good reason to hurt
A helpless soul, break a heart, kill a mind.
Do you know how many innocents
Are hiding from punishment
For crimes they'd never commit
All alone, all alone, do they deserve
To die for believing something else,
For having a face someone can't stand
Do you know our earth is a mess
All the wars for nothing, it never ends
All the souls, all alone, hold them tight
All the souls, deserve a chance at life
Quick run out in the car late evening just as the sun dipped.
Caroline and myself just managed a few grab shots before the light faded away.

The sky was yellow out to sea as the rest of the sky darkened. Not surprisingly, rain, thunder and lightning arrived soon afterwards.
