Between the greyed concrete of Hepworth Gallery and the old red brick mill building is a blackened wood pavilion/shelter called the Black Cloud. The roof has a lot of space between the slats so how much use it is as a shelter is open to question.

that's where it all comes together

The great thing about working part time is that you get lots of spare hours to do useful things like smoke joints in the sunshine on the flat roof and spent stupid amounts of time on pointless things like cutting out stickers...

some info about the art installation:

British sculptor Alex Chinneck is renowned for elevating everyday objects and scenarios to surreal monuments, transforming the familiar into the extraordinary. For this year’s Festival, he created A Bullet from a Shooting Star, an outdoor installation at Greenwich Peninsula that is testament to the site’s rich industrial history and acts as a visual beacon signifying the site’s future as a new residential district for London. The enormous lattice of steel takes the form of an inverted electricity pylon that appears to have been shot into the ground at a precarious angle.

A Bullet from a Shooting Star comprises 450 pieces of steel and 900 engineered connection points, all constructed from a combined length of 1186 metres of steel weighing 15 tons. The project is a marvellous feat of engineering made possible in partnership with specialist fabricators and engineers.

This was the scene I passed on my way home from work this afternoon. Glad I wasn't breathing that smoke.

In case you're wondering, I don't think any people or animals were harmed.

The clouds are most closely related to undulatus clouds.[2] Although they appear dark and storm-like, they tend to dissipate without a storm forming.[6] The ominous-looking clouds have been particularly common in the Plains states of the United States, often during the morning or midday hours following convective thunderstorm activity

We actually ran into each other right here. Luckily the headstock only hit my hand and not my lens. Yikes!
