I dredged out some of my portfolios today to go through them. Scattered them all over the floor and despaired. I'm in a place now where I need to find new work and I have to figure out where to target myself in order to look effectively. And none of these old portfolios are really going to get me new work. I'm admittedly in a funk, feeling rusty and out of the loop.

Early Saturday morning, after the last bit of rain ended, morning coffee drinkers sneak peaks of some of the artisan exhibitors setting up between the Wolf's home and the Village Barn which they own.

Sylvia and Harry Wolf were one in a handful of former shop owners in Skippack Village in 1972 who have founded Skippack Days. This weekend you will be welcome you to meet fine artist spanning in a wide array of mediums. Harry, Sylvia and their son Craig hope that you enjoy Skippack Days here at the Village Barn and walk away enriched by everyone and stop back again.

Many of these artisans will be returning and will featured in our Bi-Monthly Art Exhibit, opening with a wine and cheese reception in Green Wolf's - Elegant Junque located in the Village Barn.

A bit of Everest can be seen between Nuptse and Lhotse. Chukhung Ri (5546 m) looks like a small hill.

I'm looking forward to hopefully do this myself one day :)

A bit of an experiment with an image I took in the sundeck bar on the Pride of Rotterdam ferry when I last left Holland. Just wanted to make it look a bit different!!

Bit shaky as even at f/2.8 in what was fairly bright May sunshine this required 1/15 s.

New doll bits drying in the sun! Note to self...stand down wind of spray can! My glasses are now covered with yellow spots!

This is auto It dries hard, fills in the dents, is then sanded and sprayed with auto enamel which dries rock hard and stops the doll dissolving when I make the mould!

Just working on some pixel edits :)

18/52 (Since I seem to be running into problems taking pictures, this will have to be for the Big Five-Two, too.)

This week's challange was SOOC. And while I rarely do much post work, it doesn't mean that I don't normally add some small tweak to the WB or contrast. And I have to admit I've become a little bit lazy with my horizon lines and remembering that the D90 view screen doesn't cover 100% of the image.

So a few trial and error moments, all the while hoping I didn't miss the moment. It helped to get to the spot early enough to play. Although, I still caught a tiny bit of the shoreline anyway. ;-)

Here's one of the finest braces have ever used.

The model 182 is a seldom seen one and was originally delivered with a drill assembly which fits into the gear wheel just above the chuck. The drill assembly has been lost in time.

Since I don't have the parts I'm unsure how well this drill assembly would have worked. But what do know is that this brace is a lovely user.

The frame is very strong, the chuck is gigantic, the oversized chuck shell allows for securing the bit very tightly and Leland jaws will accept small and large bits with varying shanks.

This brace has three patent dates, the last being issued in 1910. The nickel plating is easily good and clearly above 90 per cent.

The hardwood handles are intact and the top handle runs very smoothly on ball bearings.

The ratchet works like a charm. It is silent yet crisp and even in both directions. A fine performer.

69p (priceless really).

For when a whole croque monsieur is too much. I dare you to stop at just one.

It was worth checking out the Harbour Centre aka: Vancouver Lookout. Only $11 you can visit the top deck from opening to closing during the day. It was quite a breathtaking view of metro Vancouver and it greater area in 360 degree view. It was a bit of overcast day and during a clear day you could see Vancouver Island and its BC's capital, Victoria.

My simple-circuit brain-rehabilitation continues. I had this enclosure from a pedal that I was never able to make work. I also had a "Bacon Bits" booster PCB that Madbean had comped me at some point in a little "Bonus Bag" that came with an order. It's a (mostly) clean boost with a "Warm" switch that rolls off some highs. There's a ton of boost in there, if that's a handy thing for you. At the very boost-iest it seems to start getting a little gritty, but that could be my amp input screaming in pain.

BTW, this brain-rehab thing is kind of familiar. I had Scarlet Fever when I was 8. I'd been a thing my mom in particular liked to show off. Skipping grades and being on television and she'd have me do all kinds of precocious things like doing her banking for her. Then I got this fever on a Friday and my pediatrician said it was the flu and sent me home with grape cough syrup. An old Army doctor the family knew packed me in ice Sunday night and gave me a bunch of expired penicillin (he didn't practice anymore). It apparently saved my life, but Monday morning my hearing and vision were shot and I couldn't speak in complete sentences anymore. I'd tested into an experimental educational facility and that didn't last much longer.

Anyway, forcing my brain to work right again (kind of, sort of) felt a lot like this. Take things slow and do what I can do until I can do more.

BTW, my voice started changing around the same time. Suddenly I was blind, deaf and the kid from all-county chorus couldn't sing anymore. That was a crappy year.

Anyway, it's kind of a cool pedal.
