I can't believe this was a week ago.
It was a bit blowy so I sometimes had a skirt issue but at least My hair stayed put.

Bit of a lazy bus photting session in Newbury for me today (29/03/2021) as I opted to just stand around the town's newish bus station rather than go hunting for different locations etc. It was just nice to be outside in some very pleasant early Spring sunshine for a couple of hours!
Anyway, since my last visit in 2018, the scene has changed somewhat with a new and relocated bus station and a new livery adorning the Newbury & District fleet, part of Reading Buses of course.
Stagecoach turned up with a couple from Basingstoke and one from Andover, Reading Buses with a few from Reading, and a random training bus passed by for good measure!
Arduino UNO provides 6 bit data and the necessary handshaking logic for a vintage Burroughs SSD0132-0040 Self-Scan gas plasma display c.1976. The row of LED blinky lights, aside from being mesmerizing, shows the state of the interface logic with delays built into the sketch to help diagnostics (on my first attempt I had the 6 data bits in reverse order).
The wire shrouded in red heatshrink tube on tag 10 of the lower connector is the +250 volt DC supply required by the Self-Scan

Bit of an amalgamation of some previous shots. Bit of backlighting, bokeh and smoke.
Flash on stand behind my head on lowest power at 128mm. Exhale of vape before the shutter opened with the fibre optic lp brush in the foreground. Took quite a number of similar shots with different points of focus. This one was my fave with everything out of focus. Bit of a tinker in lightroom et voila.

Bit of a surprise to wake up to a thick frost this morning. The sun melted it all away quickly, but not before I'd walked round the garden with my camera!
Bit of a poppy fest going on just now. Firstly were these fields in Menorca a few weeks ago and last night I came across a cracker in East Lothian. I haven't looked at the East Lothian shots yet but am hopeful of some more good poppy shots.

Taking the Hasselblad out of its comfort zone once again in one of my favourite Tokyo hang-outs, the famous (and now very crowded) Kabukichou.
A bit dramatic for me, but I was rummaging through some old photographs and this particular simple flower caught my eye and thought of the caption immediately -- sort of represents my life experiences -- I have faced many things alone throughout the worst times and I'm still standing :).
Feeling a bit spent, and hanging out in the dim light of my bedroom as I find my way back into being home, in the city, in the hustle and bustle. I had a wonderful time with my sister and her family, and want to go on another vacation. I always feel this way when I first get home, like I want to leave again. It takes a few days to settle in....

A Bit set I have with my tools, if your interested it also has three sockets which fit on the end bit. Tool talk is so technical...........
