Doing a bit of hard drive cleaning up and found this unprocessed shot from Perch Rock at New Brighton.I liked the rays of light catching the clouds just before the sun set :).
Thanks for looking,
Chris.
Rotunda, BITS-Pilani. The patch of water is just a few mm thick and about 3 feet across. Its `vastness' is thanks to the creative use of barrel distortion of things close by when shot with the ultra-wide-angle lens. My cellphone was almost touching the water as I shot this.

After dealing with a bit of congestion at Franklin Park, CP 281 races through Lake Forest with an EMD lash up
My Color Infusion Dree Hill came today and turns out she’s a perfect match to the yellow top MTM afra skin tone. She’s the light honey Integrity Toys skin tone so I’m surprised at a good match.
My resolution this year was to focus more on boy dolls and dolls of colour in general so I couldn’t resist this doll head lol.
It’s been super stormy today so there’s no good pics, but I did take her hair down and THANKFULLY there’s no short choppy bits. Weirdly though there was 5 sewing pins inside her bun.
Of course while I love the MTM match I’m tempted to put her on an Action Figure body and turn her into Lana from Archer….
Night Shooting at Moulton Barn

A bit of a departure for me here. Went for a walk on the beach the other day and couldn't resist taking a photograph of my brothers dog.
See more images from myself and fellow photographer Rob Kendall on our Website at Westcountry Photographic.
the recent gift of a black-tailed deer skull got me thinking about the various nature ephemera i have accumulated around the house over the years. it was fun to bring some of the bigger bits out on the table and have a look at things.
Waaaaah! Bit grumpy about this one... did a much better one last year lol! My main learning is not to use crappy thin paper and not to leave it until darkness to take the photo!!! Anyway... my hopes for 2013!!!
Having a bit of a mess around the other day and have been wanting to try double exposures, borrowed the wife for a nice highlighted profile shot and it seems to have worked pretty well, I am happy with the results anyway :)
All done in cam, minor adjustment of contrast, saturation etc during processing from raw to jpg.

After being on a bit of a dry-spell photography wise as of late, I decided to revisit some old photos to see what I might have missed. Thankfully I found a treasure-trove of great shots from a photo charter on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad from May of 2013 that I previously didn't work on. That day was truly one of my favorite experiences with trains to-date. I was quite bummed in the morning of that day because it was raining, but by mid-afternoon, the rain had subsided and the skies began to break up.
I'll admit that I'm unsure of what the structure overhead is in this photo, but dang it all made for a great photo spot! B&W really made this scene pop I think.
As we had almost no snow this winter, a photo from last year. Wish there had been more snow this winter.
Bit of fun before going into the office this morning. Path on Port Melbourne foreshore looking towards Web Dock West. Couldn't resist placing the moon under the lamp.
From the Roadhouse website:
Georgia Grits & Bits Waffle
The Southern version of the Dutch classic: waffles filled with bits of Anson Mill’s organic grits, Vermont cheddar and applewood-smoked bacon. Served with Ralph Snow’s Michigan maple syrup.
If it weren't for Patrick Austin I never would've tried this. It's like the crack. Go out and get yourself some waffle-y goodness.
This weeks mandala was all about finding scrapes of material in my yard to work with. The only "fresh" thing was the fern leaves and the Willow leaves all the rest were on the ground already.
The list of ingredients:
pine cone "petals"
acorn tops
marigolds, dried
Japanese fern
weeping Willow
flowers from Rose of Sharon
seeds from Dogwood
Center:
peach pit
dried mushroom capped with part of the Rose of Sharon
Happy Mandala Monday, my friends!!!!
A Bit of Yellow in a Field of Orange
A yellow variation of the California Poppy, found en masse at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, just north of Los Angeles in the Mojave desert. An amazingly beautiful site to see at full bloom.
The California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is a perennial and annual plant, native to the United States, and the official state flower of California. Eschscholzia californica grows hardily in grassy and open areas from sea level to 2,000m (6,500 feet) altitude in the western United States throughout California, extending to Oregon, southern Washington, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and in Mexico in Sonora and northwest Baja California. The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is located in northern Los Angeles County, California. At the peak of the blooming season, orange petals seem to cover all 1,745 acres (7 km²) of the reserve. Other prominent locations of California poppy meadows are in Bear Valley (California, Colusa County), Point Buchon and numerous other locations.

A Bit of A Do 2023 at Pebmarsh produced the usual eclectic mix of bygones, vehicles, machinery and good cheer despite indifferent weekend weather.
