Birds of prey are fascinating and majestic animals. They can generally be defined as birds that feed on animals that they catch alive. Representatives of these two orders can be found almost everywhere in the world. Although these groups are distantly related, the behavioural and anatomical characteristics they share appear to be mainly the result of parallel evolution.

Forgive me for a moment - So I needed to just do something different, outlandish, dramatic dark, devilish and possibly creative. Breaking all the likely photography rules of processing but it was a pure joy of creative release. This is what I do when I go to the dark place and mood. It was a hellish day today! Hope you like (or hate). Any and all reactions means success. HaHa
This Red-tail hawk in the northern part of Riverside Park in NYC was enjoying the prey it had caught and was clearly not concerned about human presence. I was able to spend almost an hour photographing this raptor. More shots likely to be posted in a few days.
