The trio of photos in today's post were taken at Six Mile Cyprus Slough near Fort Meyers, Florida. I was fortunate to go on a day when wildlife was abundantly present.
There is a high degree of intense concentration going on here.
I'm guessing this is a female Brown-headed Cowbird, but I sure would appreciate verification or correction. Scroll down for more views.
snow geese..., probably should have used a fstop higher then 7.1 ! it's easy to see how disease like bird flu can spread so rapidly among birds even when not confined....

The tufted duck is a medium-sized diving duck, smaller than a mallard. It is black on the head, neck, breast and back and white on the sides. It has a small crest and a yellow eye. In flight it shows an obvious white stripe across the back of the wing. It breeds in the UK across lowland areas of England, Scotland and Ireland, but less commonly in Wales, with most birds being residents. Numbers increase in the UK in winter because of birds moving to the UK from Iceland and northern Europe.
