I haven't built any electronic gizmos like this in 10 years. I don't know what possessed me to make this, other than binary is geeky and blinking LEDs are cool.
It's strangely transfixing to watch it count.
The "brain" is a 74HC590 8-bit counter. The clock is provided by the 555 circuit in the corner of the board.
Currently displaying the number 245. It takes approximately one minute to overflow.
Perhaps featuring my new mink a little too often lately, the previous time this outfit was shown included my blue fox so a different coloured fur had to be shown this time

With a shiny new eyepatch and a new faceup, Jinsei has been reinvented. I think he's going to need a new wig however. I want the same color and more or less the same cut... but I seriously need something that isn't nearly as thick and thus will lay flatter.
I do believe I'm going to have to make more little cybernetic attachments to go with the eyepatch now. XD
(And yes, this is one of my favorite shirts.)

Not to glorify vigilantes, guns, drugs or drug dealers but to highlight the threat, menace and problems they create in our society today.
They inhabit a dirty, dangerous, menacing and shadowy world, where life is cheap, money is king and fear and violence are the default trademarks.
Spotted near the Vansittart Estate in Windsor. It's written in some cement between an inspection cover and some wall mounted trunking. I haven't attempted to translate it!
I heard that Amtrak Chairman Boardman was on board, but if so he didn't step out to wave.

This work of art is inspired by the form of electronic circuits. It comprises, in its central part, a square covered by numbers 1 and 0, that is to say, the two states of signals in digital electronics. It also includes, on the left and right of the square, some words that summarize the main consequences, positive or negative, of digital electronics. These words, and the central square, are arranged on a support covered by the word "electron".Technique: paper, cardboard. Size: 82 x 29 cm.
The binary world is always right or wrong, always on or off, there is no inbetween. The muddiness of this image is the infection of emotion on binary logic, which humans are somewhat capable of. I imagine if an alien species were to examine us closely, this would reflect our brains potential and limitations.

Trading strategy
In finance, a trading strategy (see also trading system) is a predefined set of rules for making trading decisions.
Traders, investment firms and fund managers use a trading strategy to help make wiser investment decisions and help eliminate the emotional aspect of trading. A trading strategy is governed by a set of rules that do not deviate. Emotional bias is eliminated because the systems operate within the parameters known by the trader. The parameters can be trusted based on historical analysis (backtesting) and real world market studies (forward testing), so that the trader can have confidence in the strategy and its operating characteristics.
When developing a trading strategy, many things must be considered: return, risk, volatility, timeframe, style, correlation with the markets, methods, etc. After developing a strategy, it can be backtested using computer programs. Although backtesting is no guarantee of future performance, it gives the trader confidence that the strategy has worked in the past. If the strategy is not over-optimized, data-mined, or based on random coincidences, it might have a good chance of working in the future.
A trading strategy can be executed by a trader (manually) or automated (by computer). Manual trading requires a great deal of skill and discipline. It is tempting for the trader to deviate from the strategy, which usually reduces its performance.
