You can see across the street from the pool the Big Machines preparing the site for the site of the new development.

Work in progress on the massive "noordzuidlijn" metro construction project in the center of Amsterdam....
They are tearing down a huge building near my office that use to be a car dealershop-yesterday I watched for awhile it was fascinating watching that machine "eat" away at the ceiling, walls and floors
Another old shot I decided to revisit; sadly, it was taken at a time when I was naive to the capabilities of the RAW format, so it's lacking the detail I would normally aim for.

Here we have La Machine's 'Les Mécaniques Savantes' skulking her way down the streets of Liverpool, trying to find her nesting place again. She has now started to run rabid around the city, attacking everyone she sees with her poisonous mucus. The city council has tried many different things to try and tame her, but so far no luck.
_______
Without a doubt, this is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. To celebrate Liverpool being the Capital of Culture for 2008, La Machine built this 50 foot spider that would walk the city streets for 4 days.
It was nothing short of spectacular, and even now I feel that to be an understatement. If you ever get the chance to check any of @lamachinefr's work, I heartily recommend it. A big shout out to all of the artists, technicians and theatre designers who made this dream come so vividly to life!
