I couldn't find my 50mm 1.8 AF before I went out, and wanted something with AF. I wanted a fixed length too. The only thing that fit that was a 60mm macro, so it thought i'd give it a shot. Turns out they're sharp as hell at f/8, although the dof is still much narrower given the aperture. Anyway, this looks like something that might be fun to play around with. It makes it easier to get a longer exposure with a narrower dof. I think there could be some interesting applications.

Until you stand near one of these things, you can't appreciate their superhugeness. Then you start thinking about the engineering that went into that hinge. Then, if you're me, you start scheming ways to climb to the top of the gantry. Just to look at the world from a different point of view.
