The Matterhorn is reflected here in Lake Stellisee. Lake Stellisee is easily accessible. If you don’t like long hikes, you can just take the funicular from Zermatt to Sunnegga and from there a gondola to Blauherd. From Blauherd, it's just a short walk to the lake.
What a beautiful day it was yesterday!
In the early evening I went out on my bike for the first time in ages, and came across this disused quarry within a few miles of my house. I didn't get much beyond the entrance - but it looks like my kind of place. I will go back and explore another day.
Bonus meteor shower in midst of awesome Milky Way. ? Eta Aquarids. South Sur land of wonders. I had been trying to capture the Milky Way for the last year. Finally found the secret ... get up at 3:00 am. First time camping in decades.
And then found myself in the midst of a minor meteor shower that I had not fully realized until post-processing. Beam me up Scottie.
Once you move away from the popular spots, Yellowstone presents a pristine landscape that makes you forget the existence of civilization.
In late 1978 it was still possible to find Routemasters in service all around the LCBS operating area such as these three (RMC`s 1487, 1490 and 1479) at Chelsham Garage on 26 October 1978. But within months these and many others came out of service making 1979 the last full year of operation with just a handful surviving into the early part of 1980. Sad to see the sorry state of many of them in their final months with roof damage way beyond the worst seen in previous LT ownership.
Beneath a sky fractured by shifting clouds, Lofoten’s peaks rise in jagged defiance, their edges etched against the dimming light like the script of an ancient, undeciphered language. Golden beams, sharp and fleeting, lance through the mist, not to illuminate but to sculpt—carving lines of impermanence into the rugged stone, as if the universe were writing an ode to its own imperfection.
The mountains do not stand; they loom, timeless yet restless, their forms whispering of upheaval and stillness in the same breath. Mist coils through the valleys, not as concealment, but as something alive, something uncertain—an interlude between revelation and obscurity. The scene feels less like a landscape and more like a question suspended in the air, unanswered and unanswerable, vibrating with quiet intensity.
This is no harmony, no serene moment of balance; it is a collision—a struggle between light and shadow, permanence and decay. The peaks are not guardians or monuments; they are the earth’s raw truth laid bare, fractured, unyielding, yet strangely vulnerable beneath the weight of the sky’s indifferent gaze. The light does not caress them—it strikes, refracts, vanishes, leaving no promise of return.
In this tableau, the boundaries of self dissolve. To behold it is to teeter on the edge of comprehension, caught between the transient and the eternal. The mountains seem less a part of the earth and more a rupture in it, a place where the world has torn itself open to reveal something both terrifying and profound: a reminder that existence is neither fixed nor fleeting but an ongoing act of becoming, always at the mercy of forces beyond understanding.

With all of our advancements in learning, theories, and assumptions, I believe that mankind is only capable of understanding the most basic concepts of our universe and those beyond. We can however, enjoy the full beauty of this world and understand that it is a testimony of our creator.
Milky Way at Lake Powell.
In this the end hope is utterly spent.
Life has forsaken you, youth departed these weary bones long ago, a body damned to a shallow grave.
The ashen path beckons you deep, beyond where Charon awaits your soul.
Fear arrests your heart halting all movement and will.
This, the journey you were destined to take. Guided by stars and pale moon, which was perhaps iridescent once but is now void and serene.
Let go and embrace the grim beneath.

The river Wuhle has a length of around 15.5 kilometres, of which 15.2 kilometres run within Berlin city limits. It has its source near the Brandenburg village of Ahrensfelde, which borders Berlin.
A 15-kilometre hiking trail runs along the Wuhle from Ahrensfelde to where it flows into the Spree. The cosy, clear river with its small fish lies in the Wuhle Valley, a park-like recreational area. It is the longest green space in Berlin and lies almost entirely in the Borough of Marzahn-Hellersdorf, except for a short stretch at the beginning in Ahrensfelde and the last section in the Köpenick district of the Borough of Treptow-Köpenick.
When construction of the Marzahn housing estate began in 1977, care was taken to ensure that the houses were only built beyond the meadows and floodplains. Today, nature is grateful with more than 260 species of ferns and flowering plants, some of which are rare. The area is also home to 23 protected animal species, including the brown hare. But that's not all: the Wuhle is also home to more than two thirds of all bird species observed in Berlin. The trail is therefore popular with sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Title: Beneath the Waves, Beyond the Chains
My Project@JupyterLab
"I stare out across the endless sea, the stars above my only guide. Each wave carries me farther from home, yet my heart clings to the soil where I was born. They may have taken me from my land, but they can't steal my dreams. I've miles to go before I sleep, but one day, my feet will find that sacred ground again. And when they do, oh, how the earth will rejoice beneath me."

A little more of that beautiful fall that was ;D
Tried to keep a shallow depth of field here to isolate this small grove in the trees, set the aperture to f4.0 and hand held at 1/60th.
The level of detail that the Carl Zeiss Planar T* 80mm lens continues to blow me away, even at f4.0 the area in focus is tack sharp.
The gallery where I will be exhibiting my work is just beyond this forest area. I was checking out the gallery & where i will hang my print so I grabbed the Hasselblab and shot a quick roll of Shanghai while I was there.

Let the new night bring you peace
And the promise of tomorrow,
Where we can wake to a new beginning.
Tomorrow, I'll have only lost their faces-
My friends and family,
Memories of all we had
And the times we should have lived,
And tomorrow America just might fall apart.
tomorrow, tell me,
Where will you wake up?
Beyond title, beyond lease, careers and laws,
Something more than borders on a map...
And the sun's always rising in the sky somewhere,
And if young hearts should explode
From all the lies they've been told...
To live through one night like this,
I would trade it for the silence...

This is from the sunday morning at Svarte beach in Skåne, where the sunrise was coverd by clouds so I decided to try do something different. Playing a little bit with time so to speak. This is 2 shots smoothly blended togeather in the middle with PS. The lower parts is a 8 minute exposure and the top part is a 1/4s exposure. Suprisingly to me atleast the hardest part was to get the white balance to match up between these to exposures.

art created from my photos
All photos, design elements, and the composition in this image are my own with the exception of the original art installation which I photographed.
The original images were of an installation at The Mattress Factory art gallery in Pittsburgh. See the first comment below for an image of the installation in a mirrored room called "Infinity Dots."
I cut the photos apart, duplicated and rearranged the parts, changed their opacity, overlapped parts, & adjusted colors to create this image.
Yes, I know I've not been around, and no, I'm not being a douche... Exams are wrapping up and I should be back next week :)
HBW friends!
Ice cold fog is the winter reality for most in the North. There are two ways to escape.
1) To take an airplane to go far South.
or
2) To go upwards, beyond fog. It's wonderful. Often, its warmer than under the fog and the colours are brigther than during other seasons (less damp)
