I was never really into deep contrasting in Post Processing but I decided to give it a go with my newest addition to the "Gone to Ground" project, which I must admit isn't garnering that much in the way of faves, but this is OK, it's good to see what works for people and what doesn't as well as exploring as many avenues in photography.
I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start and so as always, thank you! :)
You can always stay inside, hidden, sheltered, safe from the elements, safe from the world. But in doing so, you risk never seeing the wild beauty that awaits for you outside. You risk not knowing this other world. A world of adventures, journeys and why not, a world of happy endings sometimes if you are lucky enough... That is if you dare to take one more step. One step beyond...

西伊豆の大瀬港湾です。以前は画面右手に小型貨物船が停泊してたのですが, 少なくとも此処１ヶ月は見掛けません。良いポイントになってたのですが・・船は物資の運搬が仕事ですからね(^^;
Chasing light is ever the photographers endeavor. Weather it be on bright blue days, looking for visually interesting contrast, or on storm ridden moody days such as this one. Light, shadow, clouds, nature, all building to a moment of blissful peace. You’ve found the light against the darkened skies, now your job is yet to begin. Finding the perfect position for your equipment, and the consideration that this light is yet fleeting, you wont have long to capture the moment, to freeze time. Yet you carry on dutifully to create. Doubtlessly, it is assumed we capture these scenes as is without any real work, but the truth, most people will never have the patience for. This image, from the same time as the previous is giving you a glimpse just beyond the veil.

Watching sunrise painting the sky in beautiful hues creating a breathtaking backdrop, from a long wooden pier stretching out over the tranquil waters.
A pier can be seen as a threshold between the known and the unknown or a place of reflection and contemplation where we can leave behind the past and embark on a new adventure.
Just as the earth continues beyond what you can see, there is always an unexplored “new land” within. Beyond what is immediately visible, think about it this way.
Lies waiting a spark, to invigorate a flame
A spark pervasive, in darkness always
Every atom advancing, perpetual in ethereal waves

I have memories of my father planting Begonias in our flower gardens. The blossoms always enchanted me as they were tucked away in the shaded part of our garden. This year I found these lovely specimens and invited them home to stay. They seem to like it here. ;) Here's to families and memories that make you smile.
