Wood engraving print 7.5x7.3cm

art created from my photos

All photos, design elements, and the composition in this image are my own with the exception of the original art installation which I photographed.

The original images were of an installation at The Mattress Factory art gallery in Pittsburgh. See the first comment below for an image of the installation in a mirrored room called "Infinity Dots."

I cut the photos apart, duplicated and rearranged the parts, changed their opacity, overlapped parts, & adjusted colors to create this image.

Yes, I know I've not been around, and no, I'm not being a douche... Exams are wrapping up and I should be back next week :)

HBW friends!

Ice cold fog is the winter reality for most in the North. There are two ways to escape.

1) To take an airplane to go far South.

or

2) To go upwards, beyond fog. It's wonderful. Often, its warmer than under the fog and the colours are brigther than during other seasons (less damp)

After a rather sudden and brief illness, Didi passed away on May 28th, almost 4 weeks ago. Still having a difficult time with her loss but such is life. She came to me almost miraculously and words cannot describe what she meant to me, but I think anyone who loses a beloved pet needs no explanation.

We spent her final weeks loving one another and trying to live in the moment. She loved music and so I will post something we frequently listened to. Memories are hard now but hopefully I'll remember everything she shared with me and taught me.

A monochrome version of an image from this Summer. Multiple exposures combined in-camera while in search of dark energy at Burnham Beeches.

More HDR vibrancy :)

Another colour injection from yesterday mornings great shoot up at Blyth with the ramblers. An off the cuff image,as we had negotiated (some not successfully) the icy path from the harbour we paused briefly here and with the gap in the wall leading out to the pier,it was time to shoot 5 bracketed shots for another colourful HDR image.I wouldnt normally proccess HDR so vibrantly and probably over the top,but since we've had such bleak weather recently im going to warm things up with this series :)

The last rites freed one from life for an afterlife in which the deceased will still watch over the living faithful and the ones she loves.

I am so very, very sad to hear the news of Nori's passing. Nori, was simply a wonderful person whom it was a pleasure to know and correspond with. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. I know we will all miss her here, she had such a strong presence and time for everyone.

'Thank You, Nori for all you shared and loved...♥

Communicating thoughts of ways

To never have to speak again

Let me be the fire in your head

Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine

And meet you on the other side

We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us

A better place, a sweeter time

We won't need any wings to fly

A place beyond the sun

Look for me

The way you would if you were blind

Don't be so resistant

I've been known

To travel much too fast

Is that you in the distance?

Lyrics from Shinedown - Beyond The Sun

The world beyond the mist

where it's clear

where light shines,

and a path becomes visible

Beyond Layers Prompt using Framed and lots of other layers. I know I should keep it simple, but I could not resist adding some writing (my great grandfather) and some damask.

Managed to capture this scene a couple of weeks ago at Merewether Beach NSW during the later morning.A low swell and low tide allowed me to get out onto a piece of rockshelf usually covered in higher water.

This allowed a view across the partly submerged rocks in the foreground to the distant headland of Bar Beach.

The longer exposure thanks to the Lee Big Stopper and Lee GNDH .9 used.

Thanks again for checking out my images - have a great day and weekend!!!

Voglio essere me.

Come on, stretch that fishing line and put me in the open sea, where you want, where you wish. I’ll get used to it, it does not matter, but do not expect to change me, I will not fear you and you will not stop me in my path to learn, to know what I want to learn and to know. I want to go to the essence of life, I want to learn what is found beyond the visible. I want to live my way, I want the things that belonged to me, those that belong to me and the things that will belong to me. I want to be me.

I'm sorry, the builder you have requested is unavailable. "A-Plastic-Infinity" is currently in a state of catatonic paralysis due to his attempting to comprehend the immense honor bestowed upon him by Joshua Hanlon and Mathew Kay, the hosts of Beyond the Brick. This is a 95% accurate rendering of the interview. Further information can be found here and by looking at the notes on the image.

After the tone, please leave a comment.

“There's much more in any given moment than we usually perceive, and that we ourselves are much more than we usually perceive. When you know that, part of you can stand outside the drama of your life.”

“Only someone who is ready for everything, who doesn't exclude any experience, even the most incomprehensible, will live the relationship with another person as something alive and will himself sound the depths of his own being.”
