▶ And, yes, "Between" actually is the name of a small town ~35 miles (56 km) east of Atlanta, Georgia. And, yes, the shop is actually located another ¾-mile (1.2 km) east of Between. But, hey, that's close enough.

This chipmunk knew I was there, but sometimes they're so dopey they let you get close. So I dd. Was also testing the Animal Detection feature of the G9 focusing system. It did pretty well tracking and holding.

LTEX 4465 leads an eastbound KYLE train between Edson and Brewster through a ice covered landscape. NW Kansas faired pretty well from what was predicted with Winter Storm Blair. I was hoping for some winter action but minimal snowfall and freezing fog is all we received.
While in Hawaii, we managed to make it up to the Mt. Haleakalā. This mountain was 10,000+ feet above sea level, so around 7,000 feet at the visitors center we popped out of the rain clouds to see the most amazing skys. I'm a sucker for sky photos. This is a shot from the summit down into the crater. Unfortunately the sign that said not to stress yourself due to low oxygen wasn't positioned in a great place for photography.

Every year, mostly between the months of December and January, hordes of photographers descend on an obscure stretch of coastline located at the end of a dodgy road in Big Sur to capture the setting sun through a natural archway on Pfeiffer Beach. This was taken last year after I almost bottomed out my Prius trying to get get from PCH down to the parking area after the road was heavily damaged by one of the rare rainstorms we had. Ring-Tailed Lemur
Unlike most lemurs, which are arboreal and nocturnal, this species is diurnal and can often be found on the ground of arid forests in southern Madagascar.
It feeds on all kinds of leaves, sprouts, roots and fruit and it is a gregarious animal that forms groups of up to thirty individuals, which are usually led by females.
