Relatively unremarkable, but I was playing with the soft focus features on Picasa (?) and I liked the results.
This image was shot on location at Barrington Court in Somerset using a converted infrared camera.
This was my first visit to the location and hadn't done much research. However my attention was caught by the Poplar Trees towering above and with the IR camera in hand began to explore.
Photo of my dear old dad enjoying a lovely late Summer day out on the pier overlooking Middle River. Saw the boat coming down the river, so I waited for it to get in the frame.
Not very inspired today.Have to take Bronte` to the dentist today to get 4 teeth pulled in prep for braces. I hate going to the dentist ( along with the rest of the known world) and taking my kids there feels sadistic...ugh.{ 39/365}

Happy Bench Monday! This handmade bench for patrons waiting for a table is in the foyer of Mist restaurant in Lincoln City, Oregon
They serve an excellent breakfast with a nice view of the Pacific..
This unique bench is on Montrose Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C. Montrose is a street that has been seen in a number of Hallmark Christmas movies. One was shooting there just a day ago,
A 2nd bench in the little memorial garden. Maybe not quite as comfortable as the other. It's also a bring your own cushion one!

This Monday Benches thing has given me a whole new appreciation for benches, and since I'm on a walk-as-much-as-I-can program, I find they are more important in my life than they used to be!!
My eyes almost popped out of my head whenI saw this bench on the ice this morning - a melt is expected - which means we will see that bench disappear. Normally that would be a sad thing but this bench only has 3 legs - a danger to those who did not know (me). I think it would have been better to repair it than to sink it. I kinda like that bench but am NOT willing to risk walking on that ice to save it. Any volunteers?
The soft tread of your footsteps
Behind me
Did not surprise me
That winter's day.
Then glancing sideways
I saw the rebel
Now walking beside me.
Disappearing behind trees,
The sun tried to listen in,
But you said nothing.
So he conspired
And the snow began to fall.
You led me to shelter
Under a tree
And the flakes fell from your hair
Like gemstones,
But all we wanted
Was to walk in the open
Once more.
We were still some way from home
When you told me who you were.
Freedom, you said.
And one day I would understand.
Years later I still walk that path
Dappled with shadow
In the sun, storm and snow,
Waiting to meet you again.
But I never do.
Even so, I remember you fondly.
Woke up early with a runny nose. Decided to take advantage of my pre-dawn awakening.

Two unusual benches at the Lawrence Hall of Science. They actually are quite comfortable, is my memory. I'll have to try again, as I do wonder how the large holes add to the comfort. They are dedicated pieces, so someone has valued them highly. Their style fits in with the all-concrete Brutalist architecture of this 1960s complex. Located at the picnic grounds.
