This is the Behavioral Health Center in Greensboro. Basically, it is a mental hospital that treats children through adults with mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, bipolar and depression. However, the majority of its patients are there for substance abuse, including alcohol, street drugs and narcotics. Substance abuse is a major illness worldwide and often times these people are "swept under the rug". Furthermore, Behavioral Health and other institutions like it are majorly lacking funds to treat those with mental illness leaving them suffering alone when in fact there illness is very much treatable.
I have never seen this behavior before.
This little bird landed on my little plate of bird seed and ate a bit or two and then flattened out on top of it. At first I thought perhaps there was rain water in the plate and it was bathing. But no, it was dry.
Then I thought perhaps it had died. But, as the shutter clicked it woke up and flew away.
Too dang weird.
I have a couple of other shots that show this bird looking dead.
Mayhaps it was just grateful for the seeds?
Any thoughts/comments/discussion is welcomed here please. This is the first time that I have witnessed this type of behavior. I guess the male Wood Frogs who didn't get any action with the few females around needed to find something to go after. So they all attacked this poor female Spotted Salamander. I am wondering if they share a similar pharamone that attracts them to her? I witnessed this occuring three seperate times in the same large pool.
