A rare site-hundreds of sailfish hunt together to control a large and mobile bait ball. Sails stay below the ball driving it to the surface which they use as a natural barrier. They take turns raising their sails to steer the bait ball and flashing colors to confuse the prey.

Mating behavior is the act of two animals pairing up to breed more species.

Hep pups, have ya been reading that "Doggy Book of Instructions"? I've been working on my human’s behavior pattern but she seems to be determined to follow other advice. I guess being second in command isn’t so bad. A pup’s life sure can be ruff though. Don’t become disheartened pup pals, persevere and you’ll have the best-trained human in your community.

This Double-crested Cormorant spent a lot of time swimming in a pond with its head mostly underwater. Haven't seen cormorants do this before...mostly they dive completely under.

Children and their families learn how to increase positive child behaviors while reducing or eliminating unwanted or troublesome behaviors through behavior therapy. Children's mental, emotional, and behavioral illnesses can lead to long-term issues that affect children's health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of their families and communities. Joined by a room full of legislators, advocates and providers, Gov. John Carney signed three bills Aug. 13 in Dover that will improve Delaware’s response to the addiction crisis. Secretary Walker thanked the Governor, Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, legislators, providers and Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Director Elizabeth Romero, saying, “We need to address behavioral health just like any other chronic disease.”

Advocate Dave Humes, a board member with atTAcK addiction, said the General Assembly has more passed about 25 behavioral health-related bills since 2015. “These bills are common sense bills,” he said. Carolyn Petrak of Ability Network of Delaware said medication-assisted treatment is preventative and shouldn’t be put in jeopardy when people in treatment go back to private insurance. “And it is a cost-saver in the long run,” she said. The three bills are:

•SB 161, sponsored by Sen. Stephanie Hansen, allows law enforcement officers to share an individual's identifying information with DHSS’ Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health if the officer suspects the individual is suffering from an overdose or a mental health crisis. “It’s making that connection,” Sen. Hansen said.

•HJR 6, sponsored by Rep. Ray Seigfried, calls on the Behavioral Health Consortium to issue legislative and regulatory recommendations that would increase access to the total number of medication-assisted treatment prescribers among all providers.

•HB 220 AAB HA #1 and HA #2, sponsored by Rep. David Bentz, adds coverage for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for drug and alcohol dependencies to the state’s mental health parity laws for health insurance. Rep. Bentz said the legislation will help make sure that people who need access to MAT can get that access.

The Behavioral Operations Management Summer Institute for PhD students at the Ross School of Business of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (BOMSI2019). The lead faculty were Ryan Buell (Harvard Business School), Stephen Leider (Ross School of Business, University of Michigan), and Jordan Tong (Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison). From the website, "The inaugural Behavioral Operations Management Summer Institute for PhD students will be held June 10-14, 2019, at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business in partnership with the Center for Value Chain Innovation. The conference is co-sponsored by the business schools at the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Support for this event is also being provided by Harvard Business School's Technology and Operations Management Unit. The 1-week intensive summer institute is designed to provide PhD students who are interested in behavioral research a solid foundation to conduct behavioral operations management research. Additionally, we hope that the summer institute will encourage collaboration and the creation of a research community among the next generation of researchers. Each day of the institute will include morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions will provide a general overview of BOM, review core behavioral economics/psychology topics, and discuss OM applications. Afternoon sessions will be focused more on small groups, practicums (e.g., applying ideas to actual research activity), and roundtables (more informal discussions). There will also be free time to prepare for the next day, have office hours, pair up to work on ideas, and hang out!" Pictures from the sessions taken over the week.

January 16, 2013 - "Deciding by Default: Lessons in Behavioral Economics" Penn Program on Regulation recently held a Risk Regulation Seminar on legal regulation based on behavioral economics led by Harvard Law professor, Cass Sunstein. Professor Sunstein described the issue with defaulting rules in business contracts, such as insurance plans, phone bills, loans, etc. He talked about the impact of impersonal one-size-fits-all rules for defaulting as well as the pros and cons of more personalized plans where customers can select their own rules for defaulting. Sunstein gives this latter option as a potential choice for future consumers in this new age of individuality and personalization. Professor Sunstein is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and served as an attorney-advisor in the Office of the Legal Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice. Sunstein has also been an administrator at the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Professor Sunstein also served as the keynote speaker at the second Annual Regulation Dinner for the Penn Program on Regulation.
