Our neighborhood service unit manager had already exhibited some strange behavior, like setting up non-existent "service unit events" and requiring the presence of our troop - then we'd show up and not another single soul from any other troop would be there and no Girl Scout rep or Service Unit rep would be there. We were fooled into showing up for more than one such "ghost event."

At least this 75th birthday event was real and the girls were having a wonderful time.

The Moms were pleased when the Service Unit manager told them the money they helped raise for our Banyan School Girl Scouts would help defray the cost of sending the girls to the huge 75th Camping Event that June where over 18,000 Girl Scouts from all over the world were expected to attend.

This was going to be a very expensive-for-parents event and the Moms were grateful for all the help they could get. Some families would not have sent in the registration packages without the promise of this financial help-to-come.

I did ask the Service Unit manager if the Daisy Moms who were painting faces knew they were raising money to help pay for an event their girls could not attend (too young for camping). I was told if I knew what was good for me, I'd keep my mouth shut.

The hit American boy band Mindless Behavior finished off their first tour of this country with their final concert before returning to America at Enfield Grammar School, as a guest of the Student Council. The band, a massive success in America, with over a million followers on twitter and a huge fan base on You Tube, were in England on a promotional tour.

As part of our links with the local community we invited both students from St Anne’s and Enfield County to attend. The band performed four hits off their debut album that is presently at number seven in the American Album chart, followed by a question and answer session and autograph signing. Over 400 boys and girls from the schools were chosen by their Heads of Year to see the band as a reward to recognise their excellent efforts and behaviour in the last few months.

Well done to everyone who helped organise this event particularly all Grammar Sixth Form prefects who gave up their time to help stage the event.

The usual harsh New Mexico lighting was bettered this morning by a high, thin overcast... lighting conditions that generated my visit. The Owls also cooperated, and I captured more than fifty quality shots of these engaging critters in about a half hour before moving on to another nearby birding site. I believe this Owl to be a female on guard, or on watch for prey, near her burrow opening. This glare at me is the usual initial stare down. She will soon lose interest in me and turn her attention elsewhere.

Communication is that the process of expressing or exchanging ideas, thoughts or feelings to a different . Depending on the age or purpose of the intended message, the communicator may use speech, signs, print or behavior (to name a few) as a way of getting their message across to the listener. In the event that a toddler is using behavior to speak , it's important to ascertain if that's appropriate supported the child’s age.

Behavior as Communication For instance, children under the age of 18 months typically have less than 20 single words and may just be developing the ability to say “no” in protest. Any time a toddler can’t verbalize their frustration, they'll resort to other modes of communication, like hitting or screaming or pushing away.

If you learn scuba diving, your instructor must tell you to respect the nature and do not irritate the marine life. I think photographer should also obey the same rule "respect the nature".

Here was what I saw in the flower exhibition:

A guy tried to shoot the tulips, but he dislike the one in the front as those tulips were leaning on the ground, so he stepped and kneeled on the front tulips in order to shoot the further tulips that he wanted. The security guard tired to stop him to kneel on the flowers, but the guy shouted back "The flowers are already leaning on the gound and dying, it won't live long, who cares if I kneel on them? Don't bother me!"

I really couldn't belive my ears and this guy is the uglyest photographer in the world! I really wanted to tell him that even though you shoot the best photo with best focus, best angle and best lighting, you are still the worst photographer as long as you did not respect the nature at all!

I've seen quite a bit of this lately...no idea what it means. In a group, a Mallard hen (I've only seen hens do it) will drop her head to the water surface, stretch out her neck and paddle furiously...looking like a submarine speeding across the water. NOT being pursued or heckledy by any other duck, and NOT appearing to be looking for food...it appears to just be some kind of 'game' behavior. Most amusing.

I noticed this Gray squirrel adding additional leaves to his nest high in a Sweetgum tree. It had been a bone chilling night the evening before and he or she was obviously feeling the need for an additional blanket
