The hit American boy band Mindless Behavior finished off their first tour of this country with their final concert before returning to America at Enfield Grammar School, as a guest of the Student Council. The band, a massive success in America, with over a million followers on twitter and a huge fan base on You Tube, were in England on a promotional tour.

As part of our links with the local community we invited both students from St Anne’s and Enfield County to attend. The band performed four hits off their debut album that is presently at number seven in the American Album chart, followed by a question and answer session and autograph signing. Over 400 boys and girls from the schools were chosen by their Heads of Year to see the band as a reward to recognise their excellent efforts and behaviour in the last few months.

Well done to everyone who helped organise this event particularly all Grammar Sixth Form prefects who gave up their time to help stage the event.

Wyman school in Woburn, Mass. gave Fowl Behavior a very warm and enthusiastic welcome.

This innovative interactive program uses the pecking order of backyard chickens as an analogy to get children, tweens, and teens to think about how to prevent bullying, to avoid being a bystander or a victim. Susan uses her own personal story as a victim of bullying, engages the students through powerful visuals, a live chicken and questions and answers to get them thinking differently about bullying in schools in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Boston, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island and Maine. Go to www.fowlbehavior.net for more information.

Bullicide is also discussed.I share my own personal story of being a victim of bullying in middle school and high school. It's a powerful anti-bullying program for grades k-12.

Communication is that the process of expressing or exchanging ideas, thoughts or feelings to a different . Depending on the age or purpose of the intended message, the communicator may use speech, signs, print or behavior (to name a few) as a way of getting their message across to the listener. In the event that a toddler is using behavior to speak , it's important to ascertain if that's appropriate supported the child’s age.

Behavior as Communication For instance, children under the age of 18 months typically have less than 20 single words and may just be developing the ability to say “no” in protest. Any time a toddler can’t verbalize their frustration, they'll resort to other modes of communication, like hitting or screaming or pushing away.

If you learn scuba diving, your instructor must tell you to respect the nature and do not irritate the marine life. I think photographer should also obey the same rule "respect the nature".

Here was what I saw in the flower exhibition:

A guy tried to shoot the tulips, but he dislike the one in the front as those tulips were leaning on the ground, so he stepped and kneeled on the front tulips in order to shoot the further tulips that he wanted. The security guard tired to stop him to kneel on the flowers, but the guy shouted back "The flowers are already leaning on the gound and dying, it won't live long, who cares if I kneel on them? Don't bother me!"

I really couldn't belive my ears and this guy is the uglyest photographer in the world! I really wanted to tell him that even though you shoot the best photo with best focus, best angle and best lighting, you are still the worst photographer as long as you did not respect the nature at all!

I've seen quite a bit of this lately...no idea what it means. In a group, a Mallard hen (I've only seen hens do it) will drop her head to the water surface, stretch out her neck and paddle furiously...looking like a submarine speeding across the water. NOT being pursued or heckledy by any other duck, and NOT appearing to be looking for food...it appears to just be some kind of 'game' behavior. Most amusing.

This is a Tutelina elegans male, the jumping spider with the weird "eyebrows". After spotting this ant, in order to get to it, the spider took a route behind a stem, peered around the stem and then finally started to make his move.

But having snuck up on this meal, he was hesitant to pounce. At first I thought the spider hesitated because the spider was not very smart and a bit of a bumbler.

After some research, it looks like the ant could be an acrobat ant (Crematogaster). After noticing the spider, the ant went into "alarm posture" www.alexanderwild.com/Ants/Natural-History/Communication/.... I can't say for sure what the ant is thinking but wikipedia says: "When in conflict, acrobat ants can release a venom by flexing their abdominal regions. The effectiveness of the venom varies greatly with the opposer to the ant." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crematogaster

After capturing the ant, the Tutelina did what seemed to be a "happy dance", at times putting one or both front legs up, or hoisting the ant into the air. I've never seen a spider emote in such a way so maybe the "dance" served some other purpose.
