The "walk" signal was on, meaning anybody could have had the right of way to walk across this street, but the motorist to my right was blocking the way. And they were being aggressive in constantly inching forward.
Children learn to value the good traits in the personality in childhood; however, after growing up, most of the children seem to lose that sense of charm and value they have about them. Similarly, riding on the cars is all they need to feel happy when they are little; however, this very sense is lost in the process of growing up. Though there are numerous reasons for that, however, if one goes through the tips mentioned in this article, you can learn to revive that.
You may have been told that all that you learned in #childhood is not enough to live in the grown up or practical world. As a result, people tend to lose their selves and feel more confused than the childhood in terms of figuring out their way. This means that there is a need to bridge that gap so that children make the transition from childhood to adolescence swiftly. So, it will not be wrong to say that parents need to take this factor into account so that their children will not grow up to be sad individuals.
According to the experts, you may feel restless if you have #childhood-issues deeply embedded in your head. For instance, if you were not given the love and support by the parents, you will struggle to maintain your relationship with people. Therefore, if your child has the problem of #socializing with people or if you have not been able to spend time with the child, it is good to reconsider your parenting style, especially if you do not want your child to go through the similar experience. This same logic can be applied to the rivalry or fights between the siblings. If you cannot mediate the points of tensions between the children, it is best to seek help rather than expecting things to get better on its own. Remember if the #emotional knots are left unaddressed, it will continue to haunt the person even if he/she grows up.
If you are a parent and you feel that you need help, there is no need to hesitate in reaching out to someone you trust and sharing your concerns, in addition to consulting an expert. The main aim is to avoid the triggers that could take you back to that dark place or affect your present state of mind. Moreover, if you struggle to deal with your emotional knots or issues, it is likely that you will grapple with raising your own children as well. In other words, it is best to resolve your emotional problems first so that you will be in a better position to raise your children. If you want to get rid of the ideas that are not relevant or helpful for you, parents can follow the below-mentioned tips.
Sort the Tension
If you think that you are coming across the same situation that you went through when you were a child in terms of fighting with the parents or developing the tensions, the best approach is to address the causes. For instance, you can discuss with your child the sources of misunderstanding. The idea is to mediate the problems or to find the middle way to meet your child half way. And if you manage to solve the points of contentions between you and the child, the bond will improve.
Dealing with Feelings
If you get panic attacks or if you have developed the fear of the unknown, you may need to calm down a bit or take a break from your work. If you feel out of control, you can take the assistance of a friend to feel better and to contain your emotions. #Breathing-exercises are quite effective when it comes to the emotional chaos one can feel every once in a while. This is not to say that it is okay to feel overtaken by your fears, however, if you know the techniques to control yourself or distracting the mind, you will be fine.
Focus on Positive Thoughts
If you are still struggling to parent your child in the best way, you can try the technique of focusing on the new thoughts or positive ones. For example, your concerns about the child and his/her future may be valid, but you also need to remind yourself that half of them are merely a product of your imaginations. Similarly, fretting is also associated with the same point. When you cannot seem to control your thoughts or concerns, fretting take charge of the mind. This is how you will need to focus on the good aspects of your relationship with the child. For instance, your vacation time spent with the children in terms of making the memories can be one line of thoughts to change your mind. If you need to take your child on the board, it can also play a role in curbing the root causes of the problems. For instance, if you get angry or feel that you should not take out the children, you can talk to them and it will help to an extent.
Experts
The best way to address the emotional problems is to go to an expert and get #counseling. The main purpose of your visits is to find out the triggers of your emotional state if you are having difficulty in putting a finger on it. Similarly, you can take help for your parenting in terms of not repeating the same mistakes again. If you think that your children are old enough, you can take them to the counseling sessions as well. It helps to draw lessons that may prevent the child from repeating the same mistakes. For instance, if the child learns to communicate with the parents, it could be an asset to fix the problems most of the families come across.
In simple words, #parenting the children is hard if you have problems of childhood or unresolved emotional issues, but if you follow the tips mentioned in the article, the main causes can be curtailed to a large extent.
This is one of a number of species of sea urchins which put debris on top of themselves to protect themselves from UV, and to camouflage themselves. Interesting animal behavior, which I am currently researching.
I am currently in Malapascua, with the fantastic marine conservation NGO People and the Sea:
Colombia
Potoos are nocturnal insectivores which lack the bristles around the mouth found in the true nightjars. They hunt from a perch like a shrike or flycatcher. During the day they perch upright on tree stumps, camouflaged to look like part of the stump. The single spotted egg is laid directly on the top of a stump. The mother sits in a cryptic pose with the chick on top of the stump.
I took this picture while on a photo tour led by Jeff Munoz of Rainforest Photo Tours (rainforestphototours.com).
Humpback Whale Breaching
Personal Note: Having moved several years ago to the Monterey Bay Area in Northern California, I decided to teach myself wildlife photography and concentrate on Marine Mammals of the Monterey Bay, which was self-published as a photo essay book. The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is one of the most abundant marine sanctuaries in the World with extensive academic research facilities studying its inhabitants and health.
One of the species I have concentrated my efforts on has been the highly intelligent and entertaining Humpback Whale. For two years I am been trying to capture them breaching out of the water. With two flips of their flukes they can propel 35 to 50 tons of mammal completely out of the water! Prior to July 6, 2015 I have only been able to photograph them breaching from a distance.
Over the next two weeks I will be posting a series of images from this incredible experience.
Here are some of the photographic issues:
•They never stop moving, even when they place half of their brain on "rest" while the other half navigates for them. When that half has enough rest, the other half takes over.
•Your Whale Boat is moving about 80% of the time. If the Bay is choppy that means it is rocking back and forth as it propels itself forward.
•Other Whale Boats are positioned around the best sites and can ruin your shot.
•We can tell when a breaching Humpback is going to dive. What we cannot tell is if they are going to keep breaching or just feed on the bottom?
•Normally they breach once or twice and stop. The Blue Ocean Whale Watch boat captain has seen Humpbacks breach as many as 70 times. They are based in Moss Landing and I highly recommend them. You can book a trip at: blueoceanwhalewatch.com/contact.
•Therefore, you do not know how long they are going to stay under the water (5-7 mins. is normal) or WHERE OR WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO COME UP, which is always in a different place.
•I keep my camera under my chin and watch over the top of the lens. Once they start to breach, you have 3-5 seconds to find them in your viewfinder and squeeze off a series of shots. If they are less than 1/3rd of my viewfinder I know they are too far away.
•On the way back to port, three different whales did a "Lunge Feed" in unison just like in the Olympic swimming events. It was extraordinary, but It took us all by surprise and I could not even raise my camera in time.
•We all know whales communicate with each other, but this was an extraordinary example. The three whales dove together, communicated with each other and then raced to the surface side by side with their mouths wide open! They then captured the sardines, anchovies and or krill, filtered out the water, swallowed and dove again.
•It is hard to describe, but three huge whales surfacing with their mouths open, side-by-side, perfectly in unison takes your breath away. I literally snapped my sunglasses in half during the whole breaching experience, but it was a small price to pay. If anyone had gotten a sharp image of these three whales, it would have been a cover story.
•Humpback whales (belong to the class of marine mammals known as rorquals that feed through extraordinarily energetic lunges during which they engulf large volumes of water equal to as much as 70% of their body mass. (Source: Marine Mammal Science)
For those of you that would like to know more about these incredible creatures please read below or visit the source: (www.marinemammalcenter.org/)
HUMPBACK WHALE: Megaptera novaeangliae (meaning of scientific name: (Large-Winged of New England)
BEHAVIOR: Acrobatic humpbacks regularly breach (jump out of the water), stroke each other, and slap the water with their flippers and flukes. Scientists believe these activities are forms of communication because they create a great deal of noise, which can be heard at long distances under water. Humpbacks swim in groups or pods of up to a dozen at calving grounds, and in smaller groups of three to four during migration. Unlike other baleen whales, they can often be seen feeding cooperatively.
DESCRIPTION: The humpback whale was given its common name because of the shape of its dorsal (back) fin and the way it looks when the animal is diving. Its scientific name, Megaptera, means, "large-winged" and refers to its long, white, wing-like flippers that are often as long as one-third of the animal's body length. Humpbacks are gray or black, except for the flippers, parts of the chest and belly, and sometimes the underside of the tail flukes. Each whale has its own unique pattern on the underside of its tail flukes, which can be used like "fingerprints" to identify individual whales. Unique to humpbacks are wartlike round protuberances (bumps or tubricales) that occur on the head forward of the blowhole and on the edges of the flippers. Humpbacks are baleen whales that have 14 to 35 long throat pleats that expand when the whale takes in water while feeding.
Northern Hemisphere humpbacks reach an average length of 49 to 52 feet (15-16 m), and southern humpbacks reach 60 feet (18 m). Females are generally larger than the males. The average weight for a mature adult is 35 to 50 tons.
RANGE/HABITAT: Humpbacks are found in all oceans to the edges of polar ice, and follow definite migration paths from their summer feeding grounds to warmer waters in the winter. In the North Pacific, where their populations reach 15,000, humpbacks feed in the summer along the coast from California to Alaska. In the winter, they migrate to breeding grounds off of Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Japan. The population in California migrates to Mexico and Costa Rica, whereas the Alaskan population migrates to Hawaii.
In feeding, they use baleen plates to strain other small fish such as krill or herring, and plankton out of the water. Their 270-to-400 baleen plates are dark and each is about two and a half feet long. Humpbacks use several different feeding methods. While "lunge feeding," they plow through concentrated areas of food with their huge mouths open, swelling with large quantities of food and water. During "bubble net feeding," which is unique to humpback whales, one or several whales blow a ring of bubbles from their blowholes that encircle a school of krill or fish. The whales then swim through the "net" with their mouths agape, taking in large amounts of food.
Humpbacks are best known for their haunting vocalizations or "singing." They have a rich repertoire that covers many octaves and includes frequencies beyond the threshold of human hearing. These songs, apparently sung by males, last as long as 20 minutes, after which they are repeated, often with slight changes. Each year, the song undergoes changes from the year before, but all males sing the same song. When a whale is singing, it floats suspended in the water, head down and relatively motionless. Behavior such as dominance, aggression, and mate attraction may be related to singing.
MATING AND BREEDING: Females give birth every two or more years. Pregnancies last for 12 months. The calves nurse for eight to eleven months. When weaned, the calves are 24-27 feet (8-9 m) long.
STATUS: Humpbacks are among the most endangered whales and less than 10% of their original population remains. However, in recent years, humpbacks have been observed more and more frequently feeding along the California coast. Nearly 1400 humpbacks feed along the California Coast in the summer and fall. The current word population is estimated between 35-40,000.
The Marine Mammal Center has helped several humpback whales over the years. One famous patient was Humphrey the humpback, who we helped twice. First in 1985, he swam up the Sacramento River, and then in 1990 he was stuck on a mudflat in San Francisco Bay. Both times, we successfully got him back out into ocean. In 2007, a mother and calf pair called Delta and Dawn, received world-wide attention as they swam 75 miles inland up the Sacramento River (going farther than Humphrey). Both had severe wounds from a ship strike. After antibiotics were administered to these free-swimming whales, a first in marine mammal history mom and calf returned to the ocean.
I believe this to be the correct ID. The image was challenging in that I have not seen IDed published images of this species that are displaying such a large dorsal sail. If you have specific ID info re this guy please comment... I'm out of my home turf (comfort zone)!

Many people in the society are looking for helping hands. Let’s be a hope to them. Amma Nanna Charitable Trust is one among them.

“Please don’t Drink Alcohol and other intoxicates Live a happily and make Peaceful Society”
Everyone should read and write his/her regional language. We don’t try to take any Loans it leads to bitter life. We can live a happily in Kutcha house without loans, and then granite floored building with Loans. Loans make damage peaceful life and leads us misbehavior and corrupt minding nature.
Address of our Free of cost orphanage home Aditya Nagar, Desapathrunipalem, Parawada, Near Steel Plant Quarters Sector-X, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and Asia. Cell no. 08886563252
For Orphan children we are providing good education, nutritious food, sports and games, cultural activities, meditation and yoga. For deceived women or widows, we are providing nutritious food, shelter, healthy and spiritual environment, yoga and meditation. We even accept them as the Volunteers with a service motto as we all know “SERVICE TO LIFE IS SERVICE TO GOD”
Do you know depending upon parents and teachers’ behaviors children learn good or bad activities? For example we choose one regional language in particular state, different areas living people speak different stylish the same regional language because it’s their environment effect. So when parents/teachers create good environments to their children doing good things like social, civic, moral, spiritual, cultural, social response, kind, humanity etc… Then children growing such way if not they will grimy.
Now a day’s one in all are thinking about earn billions of billions of rupees whatever job they are doing and give it to their children on heredity properties. Suppose they will give children billions of billions rupees and there will be no moral values, civic senesce, social responsibilities, humanity, social behavior, kindness, social moving with others and also no pure air, water, earth and sky. Can they enjoy in that society? and live happily such wrinkle and blight society, we will give them not only money on heredity but also we learn or grow them good behaviors like cultural, spiritual, social, moral, civics, kind, help, social responsibility etc.. . Money is requiring for live but life is not money. Money may not make life happy but service must be making live happily that should be known one in all.
Our properties just like water level in the well if we use water purposefully the decreased water level in the well filled later. If we don’t use water the level of water remains the same suppose we add more water into the well it looks raise in the water level in movement but after sometime it comes to the original level. If we use water unnecessarily and dry it then we have no water when we want to drink even though our well water will be raised later. So we take a little amount of water and use it towards real needy people. We eat for living and not live for eating man/woman should working until last his/her breathe.
Friends we may not giving as light as the sun but we are giving as light as lamp and try to drive way darkness in the society as able as we can then darkness drive way from the society then we will live peacefully and happily in such society . I hope we make such world! We assure you of our ethical zeal of service to the tender generation born to serve our nation as differently able citizens because “Ability knows no Handicap”.

Here in the Northeast we are in the middle of a heat wave (96 today). I watched this female Tree Swallow take a bath then fly into her nesting box. I believe she did this to not only cool herself but to also wet and cool down her little Swallow babies. Amazing.....There are no dumb animals!!!
A behavior change diagram based on a 2007 MAQ Mini-university presentation. It shows the intersection of sets of behaviors (current, ideal & feasible), avenues for addressing them (communication, community mobilization, education & training, service delivery improvement & policy change) as well as open questions.
Aims: To determine the prevalence of high risk sexual behavior and its relationship to the duration of coital sexual abstinence in husbands of postpartum women.
Study Design: Cross sectional descriptive study.
Place and Duration of Study: Ikenne Local Government Area, in Ogun State, South Western Nigeria between, December 2014 and May 2015.
Methodology: Data were obtained with the aid of semi-structured interviewee administered questionnaire from 771 husbands of postpartum women using the multi-stage sampling technique.
Results: The prevalence of High risk sex in the population was 10.6%. The duration of coital sexual abstinence was the most important risk factor (P<.001), while previous extramarital sexual relationship (P<.001, OR=41.70, 95%CI=18.07-96.07) and husband’s knowledge of his own HIV status (P=.03, OR=1.71) were also significant determinants of this occurrence. Consistent condom use during unsafe sex was 6.1%, while STIs occurred in 3.7% of the participants. Significantly longer durations of coital abstinence (8.30 ± 6.24 months) were observed in men who were rural dwellers than in urban dwelling husbands (7.16 ± 6.01 months), P=.01. Violent behavior against the postpartum wife during the abstinence period was reported by 1.2% of the participants.
Conclusion: High risk male sexual behavior was a consequence of prolonged postpartum sexual abstinence and a predisposition to STIs among husbands of postpartum women.

CMU's Alex Imas, a rising star in behavioral economics, talks to a CMU undergraduate student about the new B.A. in behavioral economics, policy and organizations.
Final Video Project for Interior Design Film Theory Class, spring 2007.
The topic was: THE OFFICE ENVIRONMENT.
PREMISE: The office is typically a masculine space, but one that ultimately emasculates its inhabitants. Themes like this are also explored in movies like Brazil, Being John Malkovich, Tron, and Office Space.
Furthermore, I was interested in how the emasculated office workers reclaim their identities. For instance, in Office Space, the main characters quit their jobs and smash up a copy machine. In Brazil, the main character escapes his demeaning workplace through fantasy (remember the glorious victorious winged hero, who, in his dreams looks a lot like David Bowie?). In Being John Malkovich, the main character escapes his belittling worklife by crawling through a trap door, through which he is able to inhabit and take over the body of famous actor, John Malkovich. I wanted to explore similar themes in my film. My main character (expertly played by Master Thespian John Thobe) escapes his frustrating work situation through furious bathroom masturbation. Enjoy!
PROCESS: No Script, No Plans, No Story Boards. 3 hours to shoot, 3 hours to edit. We made up the story completely on the fly. A few good friends in their business casual garb, one low quality hand-held cam, 2 university of cincinnati buildings, and a good clear night.

For those of you here in the good ole USofA, you may or may not know what WIC is. I'm assuming that most of you non-Amerkuns (fer-nurs as they say here in Texas) don't have a clue.
WIC provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
Now I happen to be an unapologetic liberal and believe strongly in a in this program. All you Tea Party patsies, anti-women's rights nit wits, right wing lunatics, Beck/Limbaugh sychophants and assorted other anti-governmental-program-only-use-my-tax-dollars-for-things-that-benefit-me folks (like my dad :o) may disagree but that's the way the shit stinks. It's for the CHILDREN (and they're not to blame).
Oh, speaking of shit, this just chaps my ass: Dirty diapers tossed out of a car and left for someone else to clean up. Now that's real nice isn't it. Bathroom in the building too far away? Trash can in the lot? I can only conjecture that the woman (girl?) who did this has twins but it could've been two moms making parking lot diaper changes (been there done that). People who walk their dogs and don't clean up after them piss me off. This is worse. Littering is bad enough.
Borderline personality disorder and border fantasies
Manipulative behavior to obtain nurturance is considered by the DSM-IV-TR and many mental health professionals to be a defining characteristic of borderline personality disorder.[150] However, Marsha Linehan notes that doing so relies upon the assumption that people with BPD who communicate intense pain, or who engage in self-harm and suicidal behavior, do so with the intention of influencing the behavior of others.[151] The impact of such behavior on others – often an intense emotional reaction in concerned friends, family members, and therapists – is thus assumed to have been the person's intention.[151]
However, since people with BPD lack the ability to successfully manage painful emotions and interpersonal challenges, their frequent expressions of intense pain, self-harming, or suicidal behavior may instead represent a method of mood regulation or an escape mechanism from situations that feel unbearable.[152] Linehan notes that if, for example, one were to withhold pain medication from burn victims and cancer patients, leaving them unable to regulate their severe pain, they would also exhibit "attention-seeking" and self-destructive behavior in order to cope.[153]
