Begonias in the Conservatory, Ballarat Botanic Gardens. Rex begonias are tropical plants, prized for their colorfull patterned and intriguingly shaped leaves. Although they are at home in a shady garden, they are also popular as conservatory and houseplants.
I took this on my kitchen counter, blending 100 frames via Helicon Focus. I hope to plant this begonia outside soon.
Hi everyone! After coming back from a week away, I had computer problems and could not get on the internet. The computer had to be brought in for repairs and I finally got it back today. Still a few things to sort out on it, but I can get onto flickr, so I am happy!
These lovely begonias are just overflowing in my hanging baskets. They have been blooming since the spring and are still going strong!
This vibrant begonia looks ready for Christmas. Last year it bloomed in our San Francisco garden until the end of December
Thanks for stopping by!

Begonias gone wild. This photo is in pure natural form. No editing no filters. What you see is the real deal. 😍
Longwood Gardens.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment and fav my images.
Enjoy the day.
Early morning light, and this bright red Begonia looked more like a rose. Eventually it will unfold revealing its yellow centre, while the red turns orange. Too bad they don't stay like this a bit longer.
These pretty little (and hardy) blossoms just trip over each other,
...like miniature roses....a favorite and cheery plant, especially at this time of the year.
Extremely cold, subzero temps this week; the weatherman promises there will not be any more deep freeze this winter...mmm
Thank you for your visit, flickr friends; I appreciate you stopping by....enjoy the new week!
Pat...xo
We have had our share of hot weather; it is supposed to top 100F for the next few days but the Begonia do not seem affected.
I've had Rudy Begonia for over 40 years. It's one of my favorites with dramatic red furry "spikes" on the stem. Grown outdoors it becomes enormous with leaves almost the size of a rhubarb.
I borrowed (stole) three slips of Rudy from a restaurant display sometime in the 1980's. The display was huge and they wouldn't be missed. The restaurant was Rudy's in the small Catskill NY town of Big Indian. They quickly took root and have been with me ever since.
