Thought I'd try something different. It didn't rain--it's the sprinkler system. ;)

From Krishna's garden 'Begonia Flowers'
According to Wikipedia: Begonia is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Begoniaceae. The genus contains more than 1,800 different plant species. The Begonias are native to moist subtropical and tropical climates. Some species are commonly grown indoors as ornamental houseplants in cooler climates. Wikipedia

Just liked the way these Begonia (probably an exotic type) looked against the background....

My houseplant, this one has shiny green leaves a bit like a lillypad with a deep burgundy underleaf. It is one of my favorites ... as I love them all equally !! Image: 750_6697_edited-1
Lots of summer flowers have come to the end of their flowering season. But this yellow begonia keeps on giving - interesting orange tint around the edges. Photographed in Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire, England.

This lovely lime green and purple begonia has been with me for many years, look at the cute fuzz around the edges! Today it's basking in the warm rays of Winter Solstice.
I bought this one from a street vendor in San Francisco a long, long time ago. It's easy to grow and has been with me ever since.
I have recovered images from two failed hard drives, so I will be posting images from back in the day......:)

I have to say Stafford Council has done a lovely show of flowers this year. These were in the town centre. The plinths must be 8 feet tall and are just smothered with flowers of yellow and orange. Breathtaking. The ringroad is lined with fabulous baskets. It is a pleasure to behold when driving past (as a passenger). Well done to them.

(025/365) Yet another plant I've acquired from my dear old Dad. Every time I go over to visit my parents in England he has various plants lined up for me to bring back in the car. This is some kind of Begonia houseplant, not sure of the exact variety. We've had it 3 or 4 years now.
The variegated foliage is very pretty, best viewed Large to see the tiny hairs on edges of its leaves. This plant produces delicate white flowers on long stems. It is actually flowering at the moment so I'll try to remember to take a shot as my daily photo.
08/100x : my 100 photos will be of foliage.
