The story goes that the girl who suffered from sleep order met the boy through a mutual friend's birthday party at Ministry of Sound. (The girl is a good friend of the birthday boy's fiancé and the boy is the birthday boy's good friend.
For weeks, she called the boy at wee hours in the night. Unknown to them, their fathers know one another back in their childhood days at the Boy's Brigade club and went to the same church. The boy who was deprived of sleep, made the girl “delete” off his number and stop harassing him, which he felt bad and guilty afterwards for treating a lady in that manner. So she did and then he called her! The tables are then turned…
Amazingly, a sweet love blossoms since, and strange at how coincidences overlaps…
A necessarily long exposure means some blurring as the procession of choir and visiting clergy begins to leave at the end of the service.

These are the first set of cookies I had ever done back in 2006. You see I used be a restaurant manager and I had about 60 kids (employees) they always called me mom and I always did something special for each birthday but it seemed to add $$ up and I wanted to do something that would be personalized to each one, so I thought why not cookies? I can do that! Welllllll, I originally made 10 motorcycle cookies for this employee but as you can see only three made it to the basket, I could not just put three cookies in the basket! Agh! so I remember at 3 am I hastily made some peanut butter drops to add to my three that survived. When I brought those cookies to her for her birthday she just cried and cried, she said, I've never had a boss who put so much thought and care into the staff birthdays. So I knew I just had to keep practicing and making more cookies, I had 59 other kids to make cookies for! Then one day my brother came to visit and he said you really need to market your cookies I just shrugged and said yes maybe someday... then a few weeks later my brother surprised me with business cards and a blog! That's how Palestine Painted Cookie {PPC} was born, I knew he worked hard to create these for me and I really did enjoy making them, even when they did not all survive! So I kept kept truckin, cringing when my phone would ring, unsure if I was ready to accept money for something I wasn't sure I was really any good at, but prayers and perseverance and I started to feel more confident! So anyone out there that loves cookieing, keep truckin! In the end you'll be amazed at what you can do!

Forgive my typos, I have a large cat butt on my keyboard that I am trying to type around. I loved the color of the sky as we trudged up the stairs to bed last night, and the way the fog/condensation was creeping up the window.
I kind of like the dirty smudginess of it..looks kind of Lovecraftian or something. :)

The project begins with a 1980’s home-builder house fronting on lake austin. The original design did not harness views to the lake and Mount Bonnell, nor did it respect the ecological sensitivity of its site.
The challenge was to develop a sensitive and inventive result out of a pre-existing condition. Through the use of glass, steel, detailing and light the home has been adaptively reinvented.
Reflection, translucency, color and geometry conspire to bring natural light deep into the house. A new solarium, pool, and vegetative roof are tuned to interact with the natural context.
Exterior materials and refined detailing of the roof structure give the volume clean lines and a bold presence, while abstracting the form of the original dormers and gable roof.
Further connecting the home to its site, the roof begins to dissolve where a glass clad chimney and slatted wood screen stand in relief against the sky.

This was a mix I made one year for the WNHU phone-a-thon contributors, done on an 11x17 color copy with an elderly king and queen from a Diana Arbus photo on either side of the list. The list itself was written in seismic activity paper, well..'cause yknow...audio earthquakes occurred like Ol' Faithful every Saturday night!
