New bedsheets! Well, I got them about two years ago, but I haven't used them before. I was going to save them for college (or the room at my mom's house), but apparently they have stupid extra-long beds there. Also, I still don't have a room at my mom's.

Strobist info: crappy white bedsheet tacked to the wall draped at an angle. 430EXII behind the bedsheet, 580EXII on camera @75 degrees with reflector card out.

I took this photo by draping a white bedsheet over a chair and table and placing my macbook on top. I used a table lamp to add a powerful source of light.

To edit this photo I made the image black and white and played with the exposure to try and make a cleaner whiter background without losing any detail in the macbook. After that I increased the contrast to bring out a more defined profile.

How can you emphasize basic shapes and space to create a visually appealing photograph?

I think out of the four photos I have this is the most visually appealing. The placement of the computer against a white background creates a bold image, one that is visually appealing.

Handmade dressmade out of a bedsheet

The new bedroom is ALMOST ready to move into! Greg and i finally got the curtains made and put up...woo hoo for privacy! I moved my dresser in last night too. The main steps left are, well obviously moving in the bed, and also putting in the sliding closet doors, and that's about all that is left to do!

The curtains are made by me, from a couple of used bedsheet sets.

Comes with its own hem ruffle!

When I was little, I had some bedsheets that were almost exactly these colors. The sock is a shameless copy of Kris's plain stockinette sock with the Giotto cuff.
