Japanese style room. Tokyo. Japan

For one week I set up a bench covered in a bedsheet and with pens attached, encouraging passersby to leave their mark. This is the result from the third day. View original size to see everything, or read the transcript below:

Stacks of bedsheets at a wholesale market in Udaipur called Hathipole.

aka a polyester bedsheet. Yes, I'd expected something less flamboyant too.

Made from a vintage bedsheet. Taken at PTA Thrift Store in Carrboro while trying on old golfing shoes with the cleats removed. I bought the shoes.

The little holes between the fabrics of my bed sheet - that's about as much of my bed as you ever need see.

Out of the 170 pictures I've taken during the shoot, this lone picture was the only one which had a light tone (flashed the hell out of the wall behind the subject), and I have to admit, this is the one I like best...

One flash cam right high bare wide behind subject for that 3d feel I always do, and a 2meter*1meter bedsheet hung in front of subject by some water piping, camera left, very very close.

It took like 20 shots to align it so that the entire black guitar reflected it, and I didn't see the whole goddamn room in it, but it worked out fine.

Since the bedsheet was not exactly photo grade fine texture, I used a little surface blur on the guitar, and since I still have no backdrop and no carpet flooring, I did a little gaussian blur on the part where the floor meets the wall.

This is also a lot more post-op work than I usually do, but I felt it was necessary.

Picked up a few sheets yesterday! All washed and ready to be photographed tomorrow!

Better waistband method! Inspired from this post. 2" elastic FTW.

This apron was made for my brother, and is now part of a set with the apron I made for his fiancee (seen here). I love how the lower circle of the G forms a halo for the face I stitched into the U. All of these aprons are reversible and have snaps installed for adjustable neck straps.

Blogged.

Early Sunday morning natural light washes over you if you're awake early enough to see it. It washes away your troubles, your intrusive thoughts, your worries. On this morning I felt a surge of creativity. I'm glad that Bradley was game.

Take a twin sheet and fold it in half so it's long and skinny, not short and fat. What you now have is basically a rebozo. One nifty thing you can do with a rebozo is a front carry with a slip knot ... so it's adjustable and is quite similar to a ring sling.

I love love love my bedroom !

MKF ABANDONED HOSPITAL 200L$

Yes I like these dirty and deserted places. Places that reflect a story that is far in the past. If it then gets a little scary and the traces that can be seen here stimulate my imagination, then it fits.

Here you get the abandoned MKF hospital.

I didn’t animate it on purpose, let your imagination run wild with regard to the animations.

You can take all parts apart and put them as you want. Everything can also be edited.

The complete set is made of mesh and very prim-saving.

Each part has no more than one prim.

If you have any questions, please send me an IM.

In my In World Store you get the hospital at a promo price, it is also completely set up there.

Just inventory-ing a few of my favorite vintage sheet finds. Many of these probably won't be cut anytime soon :)

This is the first vintage sheet I ever bought, purchased it years ago at a flea market. I wasn't even collecting back then!

100% Belgian cotton, crispy white, embroidered with beautiful feathers. Design your own bed linen and you will never want to sleep in another bed.

The Kila Siku collections are unique and high quality. The linen is imported from Belgium into DR Congo, where women embroider by hand to produce bespoke and elegant products. DMC threads are used to ensure durability. Go to www.kilasiku.com to buy a fine Belgian linen product, hand embroidered by women in Congo. The women need your support to build a future for themselves and their families.

I found some extra time to really work on this image. I hate reposting the same image over and over, but the rework was so much better, I had to make sure she had access to it. Here ya go, Kat.

I thrifted this yesterday (only $1!), because I loved the tree motif. I was thinking maybe I could make one of those kids' bedsheet dresses or skirts I keep seeing on craft sites. I abandoned that idea when I realized to pull it off, you have to either be a chubby pinup type or look like Kirsten Dunst or Maggie Gyllenhall. I'd look like a fat kid in a bedsheet (not that there's anything wrong with fat kids in bedsheets, but I already look like that when I wake up in the morning!) This will probably become pillowcases or if I feel a little daring, the lining for a red or blue wrap skirt.
