Dedicated to my friend, photographer Ira Dick [http://www.flickr.com/photos/iradick/], with wishes for a speedy recovery!
Last week I was invited to photograph for the annual Achterhoek Tour Rally, and it was a great day again. 140 nice classic and newer sportscars and many smiling people!
Beautiful light and sky Reflections on Newark Bay at Kearny in northern New Jersey. The water is part of the Hackensack river which is mostly isolated due to the New Jersey Turnpike road. If it is not windy, the water is still in the morning for a reflection.
Every year I look forward to the annual "booze cruise", when the local legion charters this little coastal freighter and we (between 150-200 of us from all over mid-Vancouver Island) sail down the Alberni Inlet, through the Broken Island Group to Bamfield; where we walk the boardwalk for an hour 1/2 or so before coming back home. I will post several pics from this year's trip.

Another photo of the northern lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) called JC60 on its ring, that I recently found again among all the breeding lapwings in our neighbourhood.
I met it on the same spot one and three years ago as well. I find it really interesting that it comes back from southern or western Europe, to that exact field.
It was ringed on the island of Karmøy six years ago as a chick, and it's only me who has registered it later on.

Another image taken in the Julius River Rainforest, in the Tarkine, northwest Tasmania. At various points throughout the rainforest, the canopy opens up allowing the sun to light up the moss below on the decaying trees. This area must be seen to be believed.
