This beautiful raptor was enjoying his breakfast and not paying much attention to us so we were able to slowly approach and snap a few shots. The White Tailed Kite is a medium-sized raptor of open grasslands and savannas, it is readily identified by its bright plumage and its habit of hovering while hunting for small mammals.
What a treat it is to see this gorgeous girl! I have often said that her mom, Mek, was the most beautiful tiger I had ever seen, and Batari shares that sleek beauty. It's so special to know she's a sister of the much loved boys, Cinta and Berani, who have been here in San Diego since May of 2015. It seems like she's getting more and more comfortable in her new environment and I've enjoyed seeing her personality come out. She was even resting in a belly up position one evening, though behind a rock so I couldn't see much of her. But she did lift her head and peak over for a moment - I had to wonder if she was just making sure her visitors were enjoying the cuteness.

My beautiful baby girll. We went to the park today and I saw a baseball field that had some dandelions. I thought i'd shoot a few of her with my film camera today. It's been awhile so I'm glad I finally got to use it.
When I went to CVS to go the film developed I thought it was gonna take forever, but i finally got it. it was worth it they were soo cute. These were my favorites.
Beautiful plumeria seen in San Gabriel, near the mission. I very like them :)
Plumeria is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. Most species are deciduous shrubs or small trees. The species variously are indigenous to Mexico, Polynesia, Central America, and the Caribbean, and as far south as Brazil, but are grown as cosmopolitan ornamentals in warm regions. Common names for plants in the genus vary widely according to region, variety, and whim, but frangipani or variations on that theme are the most common. Plumeria flowers are most fragrant at night in order to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them. In several Pacific islands, such as Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa, Hawaii, New Zealand, Tonga, and the Cook Islands plumeria species are used for making leis (garlands made of flowers).

Kilka gatunków to popularne rośliny ozdobne w strefie tropikalnej, zwłaszcza plumeria biała i plumeria czerwona. Na wyspach Pacyfiku takich jak Tahiti, Fidżi, Hawaje, Tonga i Wyspy Cooka plumeria jest używana do robienia lei czyli naszyjnika zrobionego z kwiatów.

Last week I was invited to photograph for the annual Achterhoek Tour Rally, and it was a great day again. 140 nice classic and newer sportscars and many smiling people!
Beautiful light and sky Reflections on Newark Bay at Kearny in northern New Jersey. The water is part of the Hackensack river which is mostly isolated due to the New Jersey Turnpike road. If it is not windy, the water is still in the morning for a reflection.
This is one of our Peonies. We missed the main blooming when we were away. This one is only a few inches wide.
Every year I look forward to the annual "booze cruise", when the local legion charters this little coastal freighter and we (between 150-200 of us from all over mid-Vancouver Island) sail down the Alberni Inlet, through the Broken Island Group to Bamfield; where we walk the boardwalk for an hour 1/2 or so before coming back home. I will post several pics from this year's trip.

Another photo of the northern lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) called JC60 on its ring, that I recently found again among all the breeding lapwings in our neighbourhood.
I met it on the same spot one and three years ago as well. I find it really interesting that it comes back from southern or western Europe, to that exact field.
It was ringed on the island of Karmøy six years ago as a chick, and it's only me who has registered it later on.
