There were at least 25 people in camp, what we think might be a record for us. There were trailers, trucks, and tents crammed in everywhere, and a rockin' poker game going.
Baby bear in a tree, with a sibling right above him that wasn't visible until it moved. No, we didn't shoot these, or the mama.

Latest spring in over 50 years. Lots of snow - even on the valley floor. Normally I camp just below the knob that is cutoff on the rightside of the picture.

Max was very interested in the activities at the tree, even though we didn't get there in time to see it alive.
Had to set up camp on a dry spot near the landing strip. My normal campsite is about 450 yards from the strip and out of the wind but there was too much snow to camp there this year.
This bear wasn't treed very far up, and as soon as we got the dogs pulled off, she came out. Maverick got a look at her and said she was a nursing mother, possibly of the cub we'd seen earlier, so we didn't shoot her. Things were moving too quickly to get a nicely focused shot with the camera.
