I have nicknamed my new Tacoma "Goat" because she went everywhere I wanted without so much as a wheel slip! :-)
This were taken a while ago at 115 King St. East near the St. Lawrence Market. I didn't find out what they meant. They're a temorary exhibit and no longer exist at the site.
Inez and most of her family. This is her first year with a hunting license and her first kill. We're all very proud of her!

Going on a Bear Hunt was a trend for families (based on the children's book) early in the lockdown period. This guy has stayed for the long haul and must put a smile on people's faces as they drive or walk down Arthur Street, Eltham.
On 16 March 2020, a state of emergency was declared for at least four weeks in the State of Victoria which was set to expire on 13 April. This was extended to the 11th May with existing directions remaining in place including staying at home, restrictions on particular activities, detention, restrictions on airports and cruise ships, aged care, hospitals and isolation for people diagnosed with COVID-19.It was extended further on 11 May to 31 May.
The Victorian Government announced the gradual easing of restrictions throughout the state from 11:59pm Sunday 31 May 2020. From 26 May schools gradually resume classroom learning.

Here, I finally wised up and got out the tape for some perspective. A decent-sized California Black Bear, also on a back road in to Yosemite (they like Yosemite.) This is a front foot, fairly recent given the weather conditions, as I could see finer details in other prints that did not photograph as well.
Todd's pup Gypsy was in on the run on this bear, her first run ever. Here, he's encouraging her to bark up the tree the bear's in.
This bear was taken with a bow, but the action got a little too exciting to concentrate on photography, as it came out of the tree still alive and kicking.

Right as I got to the tree, that bear decided he'd had enough, and came down in a hurry, right into all of the dogs. It took off down the hill and the dogs followed.

The weather finally started to melt some snow but we had stunk up this valley/bay for 2 weeks so we called the pilots on my sat phone and asked them to move Mark and I to the next valley/bay over. The scent of our camp had pushed some bears over the mountains to the next bay. We would have four days to hunt at the new camp before the season would close. The pilot of this beautiful 180hp SuperCub is Ben Stevenson. Mark snapped this picture of Ben and I after take-off. Ben and I flew over to the next bay to see if the strip there had melted enough to land. Ben later returned and picked up Mark.

New cabin built Fall of 2011. Room for three people and a decent cooking area. Nice after being in tents for 2 weeks!
That new air compressor came in handy! I see that I would need another hose to reach the back tires though.
Mark shot a few times from this dry spot. The bear was 170 yards away across the snow on the rocky dry spot just over his left shoulder. Steep! Just like sheep hunting. At the shot, the bear rolled over 600 yards to the bottom of the canyon! Now 10:30pm.

Bear Hunt - Douglas Tilden
Bear Hunt, a statue of a bear and her cubs being attacked by knife-wielding Native Americans. The Smithsonian database misidentifies the bear cubs as hunting dogs.
Douglas Tilden (May 1, 1860 to August 5, 1935) was a world-famous sculptor. Tilden was deaf and attended the California School for the Deaf in Berkeley, California (now in Fremont, California). He went on to attend UC Berkeley and then left to study art in Paris. Once in Paris, Tilden studied under Paul Chopin, another deaf sculptor. He created many statues that are located primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
