Somehow beards are associated with wisdom - don't know why!
I don't quite get it ... I have so little facial hair!
:-))
Have a great weekend!
So the beard has been a fixture for about a year now, however, I've trimmed it fairly regularly during that period. The mustache has been various lengths at different points in time, but I've decided to let it grow out a bit.
I finished Basewood tonight at about 3:30am while listening to The Blue Album. It was the perfect way to end this book.
I am way too tired to try and sum up how this feels. I'm not even sure I KNOW how it feels. I do know the following:
1) I inked for 14 hours today. And I have been working like a dog on this book for the last three months. I am taking the weekend off (in New York!) It is going to feel good to relax.
2) Claire will be cutting off all of my hair and my beard one week from today, on Friday, December 9th at 7pm at The Center for Cartoon Studies. It will also be the book release of this chapter.
3) Some time between now and then, I will put up ordering information on the Phase 7 Comics page, where you can currently order the first four chapters of Basewood.
If you are a Phase 7 subscriber and you have moved since this summer, PLEASE email me your current mailing address! This issue will go out to subscribers within a week's time.
4) I could not have done this without the support of all my wonderful friends and family. I can't wait for you all to read this comic! Thank you for your support.
Basewood... NEVER AGAIN.
I used to have a pretty wicked beard. It will grow again. I also like to wear cat ears. Because they're fucking cute.
Yup. That's white in my beard. A decidedly odd feeling, since I'm still only at most 22 in my own head.
I stopped shaving for a few weeks basically since starting working from home during Covid-19 and then retiring I stopped shaving daily and the time between shaving gradually increased. Anyway a couple of days ago I got fed up with feeling untidy and scruffy so got the clippers out, but after I shared only two friends on Facebook thought I looked better shaved and around 30 or more said I should have kept the beard!? I of course cannot make my mind up about it!?
Two years ago today, I shaved off all of my hair! Last year I suspected that my beard had stopped growing. Boy was I wrong!
I'm exactly half way through Chapter 4 of Basewood. So all that remains is finishing the rest of chapter 4 and then Chapter 5 and I'm done!
Onwards!!!
