This picture was just sent to me via email by my baby brother who is currently in Iraq w/ the Marine Corp. That beard looks fake.

They had a polaroid camera and a bunch of props for all the guests to take stupid pictures with. Phil obliged by turning his formidable beard into a fall floral arrangement.

A responsibility I take seriously

The Great Beard Experiment of 2014 came to its conclusion tonight. I let the boys do the honors of removing it from my face. Each got to carve something into a cheek (Andy's says "HI!"), and then reduced from full beard to goatee, to mustache, and finally back to "normal" (whatever that means).

My beard, which I've kept since early this summer, has been getting more and more itchy, and I finally gave up on it (again). Here's a "before I shaved it off" shot. I really would have liked to have kept it, but it wasn't coming in very full, and was driving me nuts.
