Goat's Beard (aka Yellow Salsify) is a perennial, non-native wildflower found in Colorado (and in Michigan). Supposedly, it's taproot can be ground up as a coffee substitute. I think I'd have to wait 'til coffee was available again : )

It's large yellow flower opens in the morning, turns to face the sun, and closes by midday.

Taken for the “Macro Mondays” theme “Ready for the Day”. HMM!

I did add the glow and inverted the image in photoshop. If that's an issue I will take it out of the group. It needed a little something extra.

As I explore this wonderful world by myself or on demand...

I also encounter some roleplay sims.

This is Cornelius Theophilus Beard

one of the roleplayers on french sim.

The story is based on the tv serie 'Carinival Row'

It's a fantasy neo-victorian (non steampunk) roleplay land.

You can encounter 6 races here..

Faunes, Humains, Faes, Centaures, Kobolds and Trolls.....

If you like roleplay (in french) you can visit the landmark below....

There is also a observer tag if you want to take a look around first. (Like I did)

It's an amazing detailed well build sim and really worth a visit.

Ol Man’s Beard, Clematis vitalba, can be found in abundance along the hedgerow the moment. It is also referred to as Traveller’s Joy I suppose because of its beautifully scented flowers against which the W horses would have stumbled wafting up beautiful scents. The small greenish white flowers turn to feathery seed heads come Autumn so@etimes also called Father Christmas heads. Theses were blowing in the wind on a grey day, definitely looking like an overgrown whisky whitened beard.

Only pinkish before the flowers open (here at least)

Our view of the Pacific Ocean from Beards Hollow Overlook. A bluff north of North Head Light House at Cape Disappointment. This view point is overlooking Beards Hollow south of Seaview.

History note: Captain Lewis & Clark reached the Pacific Ocean near modern-day Seaview, Washington, November 15, 1805.

Natures Fireworks. Yellow Goat's Beard.

Yellow goat’s beard and yellow salsify. It’s an attractive, but rather unremarkable yellow flower whose presence often goes unnoticed; however its three to four-inch globe-shaped seedhead is eye-catching and resembles a giant dandelion on steroids. And when the sunlight hits the seedhead just right, it’s stunning.

But is growing a beard obligatory under Islam?

Professor Muhammad Abdel Haleem, of the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, says "this is not the only view expressed by Muslim scholars."

Many Muslim scholars now do not see the beard as an obligation and do shave their beards.

Muslims learn about the Prophet's views on facial hair not from the Koran, but through hadith - or sayings - attributed to Muhammad.

One such hadith, in a collection by Muslim scholar Muhammad al-Bukhari centuries ago, stipulates: "Cut the moustaches short and leave the beard."

The Prophet Muhammad is believed to have had a beard and those who insist that devout Muslims grow beards argue that they are doing no more than asking the faithful to emulate the Prophet's actions.

The beard moos is a sign of clean air. It were commonly found in trees everywhere, but even a small amount of air pollution quickly destroys it. That is why it has disappeared from forests almost everywhere.

The 10/31/22 Macro Mondays theme is Phobia.

I chose pogonophobia, which is the fear of beards, an easy choice for me, since I didn't even have to get out of my chair to find the subject, which was hanging from my face.

Barley in the late sun... well what little there has been here recently.

This pup was dragging itself back up to the beach after practising its hydro manoeuvres in the shallow water. It seemed to enjoy the sensation of the water lapping under its belly, and in this case, frothing over its mouth to form a milky sea beard.
