Napili Beach was one of my favorite beaches on the island of Maui. Great sand, water, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and what a view!

You can check out my travel blog to read about our time at this amazing beach:

A pristine beach on Flores Island belonging to First Nation inhabitants on Clayoquot Sound, near the village of Tofino, British Columbia.

Stained sand on Holkham Beach.

Turkey Point Beach, Turkey Point, Ontario.

A couple of friends and I camped out at Mystic Beach this weekend. It was a very short, easy hike in, mainly due to the fact that I had injured my knee the past week. Despite the twinges, it was worth the hike and camp. Good friends, good fire, and good scenery.

This piece was made with a few different techniques. The sky, shot at sunset, is a composite of 48 images shot over seven minutes.

The water, shot before dawn, is a 30 second exposure lit by the moon.

So despite the fact that I was unable to spot comet ISON due to clouds in the southeast, getting up early was still worthwhile.

Wilson Cottage

123 Coral St.

Built ca. 1882

Wilson Brothers & Company firm of architects and engineers were responsible for constructing many of the large estate houses in the early years of Beach Haven's development. This home was actually owned by John Wilson and was illustrated in the Wilson Brother's 1885 catalog. The half-timbered gables are original along with the lime-green/dark green colors. Additional unique features include the two extraordinary chimneys linked by an arch, and the floor-to-ceiling first floor windows. Perhaps the most delightful decorative feature is the stencil-like incised pattern of flowers at the center of each gable between the pairs of second-floor windows.

Henley Beach. From the bottom up: wet sand, ocean and sky.

Chesil Beach (sometimes called Chesil Bank) is an 18 mile (29km) long, 200 metre wide and 18 metre high shingle tombolo in Dorset, southern England. The beach is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Pebbles on the beach are graded, with the coarser stones nearer to Portland. Fishermen familiar with the beach claim to be able to tell their location from pebble size alone. The pebbles are mainly flint and chert from the Cretaceous and Jurassic rocks which make up this stretch of the Heritage Coast, along with bunter pebbles, possibly from Budleigh Salterton, although no universally accepted geological theory has been formulated to explain the mode of transport.

Weymouth Beach is a gently curving arc of sand in Weymouth Bay, beside the town of Weymouth in Dorset, England. Immediately adjacent to the beach is The Esplanade.

The beach is a popular destination for sea bathing, and was frequented by King George III during times of illness. The king named Weymouth his 'first resort' and made bathing fashionable there.

Weymouth Beach is very wide and gently sloping, with golden sand and shallow waters normally with small waves. In addition to bathing, the expansive beach is used for beach motocross and volleyball.

The beach has the traditional attractions of an English seaside resort, including (during the summer season) donkey rides, Punch and Judy, sand sculptures, trampolines and a small funfair for children.

At the southern end is Weymouth Pier, including the Pavilion Theatre and Weymouth Sea Life Tower. At the northeastern end is the suburb of Greenhill, with Furzy Cliff and Bowleaze Cove beyond that.
