Karl Schmidt Memorial at Besant Nagar Beach: Karl Schmidt Memorial is one of the historical landmarks of Chennai which is located in Besant Nagar Beach. This small memorial was constructed to recognize the effort of a Danish sailor who gave his life to save a life of an English girl who was struggling in the sea.
On December 30, 1930, K A J Schmidt saved the life of an English girl who was struggling in the sea and Schmidt lost his own life during this incident. The same day evening, the girl attended a party which irked the then Governor of Madras, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir George Frederick Stanley. He built this memorial to recognize Schmidt’s gallantry and bravery. The sculpture in the monument reads, “To commemorate the gallantry of K A J Schmidt who was drowned near this spot on December 30, 1930 while helping to save the lives of others.”
The Daytona Beach Broadwalk has been a centerpiece of Daytona Beach for years. Though commonly referred to as "boardwalk", the structure has no boards to make it a boardwalk, therefore despite the misnomer it is not an actual boardwalk.
A small collection of rides and shops, including a recently installed roller coaster, fill the area near the broadwalk.
Sri Lanka, former Ceylon, is a tropical island to the south east of India in the Pacific. The volcanic origin created high mountains (up to 2,524 metres above sea level) in the centre of the island.
One can see elephants, temples, mandirs, mosques, pagodas, caves, colonial hill station resorts, breathtaking landscapes, beautiful beaches and lot more interesting places in Sri Lanka.

Its called tunnel beach, not because of that rock formation you can see, but the fact that there is a man made tunnel carved into the rock taking you to a secluded beach, its pretty cool
"In the 1870s Dunedin entrepreneur and politician, John Cargill, gave instructions for a tunnel to be carved through a sandstone cliff so that his family could have access to a beach near his home. It is rumoured he gave it to his daughter's as a birthday present. The tunnel provided them with private access to the beach and prevented 'exposure' at the public St Clair Beach nearby."
This is definitely a place to visit for a few more shots, probably at sunrise as its to the east....

An image taken today. I decided to go coastal and chose to start at Clashach Cove (or Primrose Bay to some) just outside of Hopeman, Moray. There was a plethora of wild flowers about but I was particularly taken with these bluebells which I was surprised to find down at the beach.
A stroll along Blyth Beach with my family on a rather blustery afternoon, I decided to take a few shots s it was high tide.
