Had a chance to take a bike ride to the Cape Canaveral Beach on Christmas day. I am looking for a very specific shot of the ocean coming in, I wasn't able to get what I wanted, however this gull was nice enough to come visit with me for a while.

I got this feeling he was trying to tell me that this was his beach and I should just back off.

Autumn at my local beach. Its amazing how quickly the beaches become quiet. The light, clouds and colour were beautiful on this day. I especially like the wide angle perspective. It really adds to the drama of the beach scene

Brighton Beach huts are not only bright and interesting but have become quite the tourist attraction with people promenading until the sun set. Last night on a cool summer's night was no exception and the heavy clouds were fortunately not reflected over the bay.

A small group of FFF+ spent some time waiting for the sunset and were rewarded ( thanks to the order by Red Stilletto) with some nice colours before dark.

To those who couldn't make it to the beach have a very happy Christmas and see you in 2020!!

A few minutes after, and you could see the lighthouse working.

A new series. Out of square format, no title except that "engraved" on each photo GPS coordinates "a place of reliving a moment." In fact all the photos in this series are from my 1st photos made in 2009 with a modest Samsung.

Thank you for this one I've exhausted, finished with Scotch for his seal ...

and offered me a "window" to the world!

The Rising Tide by Jason deCaires Taylor which depicted a series of working horses with riders on the banks of the River Thames at Vauxhall in Central London. It was positioned within sight of the Houses of Parliament as part of the 2015 Totally Thames festival, which celebrates the River Thames every September.

The tidal works, which are loosely based on the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, were revealed and partially concealed by the daily ebb and flow of the Thames.

The sculptures symbolise our desire to control natural forces, but their position in a vast body of moving water highlights our inherent fragility. It is intended to provide a disturbing metaphor for rising sea levels, demonstrating how little time we have to act, yet crucially it offers hope as it resets itself each day, offering us the opportunity for change.

Beach at North Berwick Scotland

That is what I called the beach up where we were camped last week. No internet and no TV. Amazing what people do down on the beach with idle time. It really did feel good for 4 days.

There was so much fog there was no visible sunrise and the Fire Island lighthouse and its light could not be seen. But the nearly deserted beach and the loud, pounding surf was wonderfully moody. Field 5 of Robert Moses State Park, Fire Island, NY -- December 27, 2023

I've marked the correct location on the map, but the location names on the map are very wrong,

Newport Beach, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.

The wet, wild, riled seas off a Welsh beach last November.

I was messing about with ICMs that day. I kind of liked this one - it seemed to sum up the feeling of the moment.

I guess it’s a sort of minimalist abstract again. But I like it and it was fun to bring together. I guess I was heading for the kind of modern painting I’ve seen hanging around some galleries.

The starting image was only about half the story. The rest was some fun messing about with Nik Color Efex. Now that’s a fun playpen of toys to mess around with! I must play a bit more because there is some good, useful stuff there.

This is a combination of five of the filters: Colour Contrast Range; Contrast Only; Film Efex: Faded (which made the strongest contribution to the end result, including the grain); Pro Contrast; and Graduated Filters.

The initial development was done with DXO Photolab 2 including straightening the horizon (!). In Affinity Photo, I tidied it up the Nik result a bit with Inpainting (context fill equivalent) though I should have done that before. A slight dark vignette which helped focus the image.

I played with the crop and tried using the Golden Spiral as a guide (if, strangely, you want to know more about where I was going on that search Golden Spiral on Wikipedia) but in the end for this picture I decided placing the apex of the beach triangle on the bottom right thirds intersection worked better (more beach!).

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy this bit of not very much, whatever it is :)
