Basiliscus plumifrons

No, this Basilisk will not kill you with its sight like the Basilisk from Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets. But it can run on water and hence also called the Jesus Christ lizard. In the wild, it is found in the rain forests of Central America. I found in the canopy of the rain forest in Cal Academy.

Plumed Basilisk or Jesus Christ Lizard (Basiliscus plumifrons). The common name is due to the lizard's ability to run on water. Seen in the gardens of Tortuga Lodge, the finest lodge in Tortuguero, Costa Rica.

Painted on the side of a van.

Also called the Jesus Christ Lizard by locals because it runs on water. We saw many of these.

Brown Basilisk (aka Jesus Christ Lizard)

My visit to "The Making of Harry Potter" at the Warner Bro Studios in Watford. An amazing day getting to see the sets, their models and the costumes used in the Harry Potter films. An invaluable experience.
