Now that I'm an old guy, my sleep is often disturbed by biological necessity. Usually, I stumble and fumble around in the dark, but on those nights when the moon is bright, I am guided to my task by an unworldly iridescence, soft lunar beams that creep in through the blinds, splash along the floor, and remind me, even in the darkest moment of the night, of the precious nature of light.
