To reach Everest Base Camp after eight days of a vigorous trek is an amazing feeling. To see the shimmering Khumbu icefall, the iconic yellow tents of EBC completely ensconced in a Colosseum of huge peaks & hustle & bustle on the approach is a magical moment alright. I laughed & choked at seeing the yellow tents; yes at the same time! :D
Base of the helmet is a Koruit, bootleg helmet. I filled in the visor gap and sculpted the sides. The ranger finder was sculpted over a staple which is imbedded in the sculpt to allow for a range of movement. Credit to this idea goes to LegoMatic9’s Boba Fett helmet.

The rest of the figure is sculpted. I utilized a variety of 3D elements made from electrical tape, metal from a soda can, and fishing line. The texture of the underlying red outfit is derived from plastic tablecloth.

All the battle damage and scuffage was precisely dabbed on rather than dry-brushed.

The bandana is a modified and sculpted Ninjago mask.
•
Jetpack is a modified CloneArmyCustoms jetpack which attaches onto the torso via magnets.
•
Face is painted over a Superman head. Beard and hair were painted in light gray with tan and dark gray washes.
•
Both weapons are from BigKidBrix. The rifle has a simple mod to the front in addition to a cloth wrap.

Last addition was the flame effect piece, made from hot glue and painted using Tamiya transparent paints. It attaches onto the wrist using cut up plastic packaging.

So a more recent shot using the bag hide. A pair of redstarts are getting used to this strange camouflage lump sat at the base of a tree. The female seems by far the boldest as I'm getting some stuff of the male however he doesn't seem to want to get quite as close.

Based on a nominally black and white photo, zoomed in and colors enhanced in various ways. Finding details.
In a neat segue from that last series, we return to Thirlmere, in the English Lake District, for a walk up to Raven Crag, continuing on to the bog-fest that is Bleaberry Fell, High Seat and High Tove on an overcast day in spring 2023.
I transformed the lunar space station into a Martian land base for colonization.
The blocks / modules are perfect.
I also made a small NPU with train part number 55768. It makes excellent glass roof/skylight :)
based on the 'hope" trailer for the old republic (which is still awesome regardless of how many times I watch it)
Concreted
Saturday morning and me and my Father in law concreted the base for our greenhouse.
We mixed the concrete ourselves. It took 1.5 tonnes of limestone chippings, (just over) .5 tonne of building sand, and 9.5 bags of cement.
Though the perspective doesn’t look like it on this photo, the base is 8’6” x 8’6”, for the 8’ x 8’ greenhouse.
(The greenhouse arrived on Friday! The delivery time was 10 days, but it came in 4 days.
My weather app at lunchtime yesterday said that we could expect rain at 7.00pm. So it wouldn’t need covering …
At 1.30pm I set off to the football. Once I got inside Turf Moor it started raining… then barely stopped until nighttime. I wasn’t a happy man.
Fortunately, due to its sheltered position the rain hasn’t affected it.
I’ll erect the greenhouse in 7-10 days, once the concrete has fully hardened.

I spent my morning sliding on ice down the hill I was trying to climb. I had a break next to these gates before the final climb.
This would have been the base of a cooling tower that was never built for a nuclear power plant that was abandoned midway through construction.

( Captain catches sight of a pilot walking around on his phone, not headed for the hanger )
[Rebel captain]: "You! pilot! to your aircraft you idiot!"
[Pilot]: "Just a minute sir! I've been chasing this pokemon for thirty minutes, and I've almost got him!"
