Golden birthday for a player of local travelling baseball team. Marble cake, vanilla buttercream. Hat and Jersey are cake. Golden baseball is RKT. Hat rim is gumpaste base. All decorations in fondant, baseball stitching in buttercream.
I make my children suffer for my art. ;) And yes I know he needs a haircut, but all the boys at his school have hair like this and the girls, for some reason, "are all about it" as I'm often told.

of the classic newsboy cap. Similar in shape,

The brightly dressed bumptious people are westerners, all Americans except me. The plainly dressed sceptical-looking people are Soviet Citizens. The exception is is Viktor, the smiley Soviet Citizen. He believed in the future. We are all at Lake Baikal in Siberia in 1990, discussing computer algebra under the auspices of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
This was a special place high above the lake where people tied ribbons on the trees and bushes to make wishes or prayers. You can see one on the tree trunk at the far right.

The year is a guess, based on how old I look. I definitely remember a time when I wore lots of baseball hats, and I even remember owning this Royals cap. I definitely do not remember that pathetic scraggy proto-'stache on my lip, or I'd have been a lot more ashamed than I currently am.

My pirates baseball cap, at very high magnification. 50mm f/1.8D reversed onto a 105mm f/2.8 AI-S macro lens. The effective magnification is about 2:1. I'm hoping to get a setup working with my 68mm worth of extension tubes on the 105mm lens, that'd give me better than 3:1.

I couldn't pick a good pic to use.. cuz i had so many... so, i went with this one.. cuz i'm on the roof. and that's sumpin awesome for sure. yep.
