The International Ayr Show 2025 is on this weekend and I face a choice. If I get enough recovery sleep tonight I might be able to get out with my camera again. The question I face... aircraft or people? I could down to the beach in my new hometown and enjoy the air show or I could go into Glasgow and maybe catch some of the people going to the Comic Con on the outskirts of the city centre. If I go down to the beach I'd want to photograph aircraft and people though and I really don't think I can carry two cameras and lenses anymore. Hmmm...
Decisions need to be made as I need to prepare today. When you are chronically ill and disabled everything takes extra consideration and time. My decision might be made in the morning too, maybe tomorrow I might not feel able to cope with such huge crowds that the Ayr Show brings.
Decisions.... decisions... Hmmm.
People or planes?
I wish all of you a wonderful weekend and thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity of spirit the past couple of days. I am still somewhat shocked at winning a photography contest. Takre care.

It's going to be another hot one today in the UK. Europe, however, is seeing record temperatures day after day and terrifying wildfires are threatening life. The new normal. This will most likely be the coolest year of the rest of your life. We did this. We are still doing it. Very little is being done to prevent catastrophic climate change.
In the meantime, if you are caught in the heat, seek shade and stay hydrated. Please keep an eye on those that are more vulnerable to heat.
Young lady who works for Wildlife Preservation Canada. I have chatted with her a number of times over the last couple years. She is part of a team that keeps track and records the population and movement of the Endangered Species ,The Loggerhead Shrike. Birders come from all over Ontario in search of this rare bird.
Last year, I saw 2 of them and photographed them and this year I have seen only 1 and it was about 150-200 yards out from the roadside.
Her and her team have permission from all the land owners to access their properties in search of these birds.People like myself must obey the No Trespassing signs and can not do an open search through Carden Alvar.
I like chatting with her when I bump into her from time to time because she updates me on everything to do with the Loggerhead Shrikes. She told me that unfortunately the numbers are down and they only know of 6 pairs within a large radius.
They are also involved in an captive breeding process in hopes to increase their numbers in the wild.

A previously unpublished shot from this day, 2nd September, in 2017 at the 'Ayr Show' - Scotland's Air Show.
The Ayr Show is back on again next weekend for the first time since the start of the pandemic and, with my health still not being up to scratch just yet, I might have to enjoy it from a distance and not get down there with my camera. I have loved flight and aviation since childhood and the summer seaside air show was always a treat that I could enjoy with my dad.
While I won't be well enough to make it into the massive crowds that are expected, I'll find a quite place to enjoy it as best as I can near to home. I have some older shots from previous Scottish air shows if you would like me to share them? Let me know!
