Seeing the 'letterman' style initials 'E' and 'A' on her clothing I couldn't resist a title that references a slogan by Electronic Arts (EA), a video game company. Yes, I am a gamer and have been since childhood. A product of the 1980s home computer boom.
News on the PC - after describing my ongoing issues to the manufacturer of my 'new" computer, they want it returned for a priority repair.
If I disappear suddenly from Flickr in the coming week or so it is likely that my luck has run out. My old PC is hanging on by a thread. Fingers crossed it will hold out until the new one is fixed.

Life is full of risks.
Recent fatal incidents at Dunkeswell Aerodrome in East Devon involve both skydiving and light aircraft accidents:
26 June 2026 (Light Aircraft Crash): A female pilot in her 40s died after her light aircraft crashed on nearby farmland shortly after 10:00 AM. She was the sole occupant of the plane.
28 February 2026 (Solo Skydive Incident): A 49-year-old highly experienced licensed skydiver and wingsuit coach (with over 10,000 recorded jumps) died during a solo wingsuit jump using his personal equipment.
13 June 2025 (Tandem Skydive Incident): Skydiving instructor Adam Harrison, 30, and Belinda Taylor, 48, both died during a tandem jump after their main and reserve parachute systems failed to deploy correctly.

The International Ayr Show 2025 is on this weekend and I face a choice. If I get enough recovery sleep tonight I might be able to get out with my camera again. The question I face... aircraft or people? I could down to the beach in my new hometown and enjoy the air show or I could go into Glasgow and maybe catch some of the people going to the Comic Con on the outskirts of the city centre. If I go down to the beach I'd want to photograph aircraft and people though and I really don't think I can carry two cameras and lenses anymore. Hmmm...
Decisions need to be made as I need to prepare today. When you are chronically ill and disabled everything takes extra consideration and time. My decision might be made in the morning too, maybe tomorrow I might not feel able to cope with such huge crowds that the Ayr Show brings.
Decisions.... decisions... Hmmm.

It's going to be another hot one today in the UK. Europe, however, is seeing record temperatures day after day and terrifying wildfires are threatening life. The new normal. This will most likely be the coolest year of the rest of your life. We did this. We are still doing it. Very little is being done to prevent catastrophic climate change.
In the meantime, if you are caught in the heat, seek shade and stay hydrated. Please keep an eye on those that are more vulnerable to heat.

Young lady who works for Wildlife Preservation Canada. I have chatted with her a number of times over the last couple years. She is part of a team that keeps track and records the population and movement of the Endangered Species ,The Loggerhead Shrike. Birders come from all over Ontario in search of this rare bird.
Last year, I saw 2 of them and photographed them and this year I have seen only 1 and it was about 150-200 yards out from the roadside.
Her and her team have permission from all the land owners to access their properties in search of these birds.People like myself must obey the No Trespassing signs and can not do an open search through Carden Alvar.
I like chatting with her when I bump into her from time to time because she updates me on everything to do with the Loggerhead Shrikes. She told me that unfortunately the numbers are down and they only know of 6 pairs within a large radius.
They are also involved in an captive breeding process in hopes to increase their numbers in the wild.

I love the slight downturn of the mouth as it peeks out from under the shade of his baseball cap. Enjoy!
