While we were riding on the Monorail at Epcot, Rose took it into her head to ham it up for the camera for a sequence of about eight shots. The ninth (center) was taken just a little later in the day.
Don Tonio is 74, but continues working as a lottery ticket seller in San Vito, Costa Rica. He surprised me with a visit while I was recuperating from a hospital stay. He's short, bald, missing most of his teeth, has a big belly and no rear end, is hard of hearing, and speaks with a heavy Tico country accent, but he's adorable!

Lanny King McDonald, born February 16, 1953 in Hanna, Alberta, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992.
At 36 years old and approaching the end of his career, the 1989 Stanley Cup playoffs was potentially his last chance at a championship. The Calgary Flames defeated the Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks to set up a Stanley Cup final rematch with the Montreal Canadiens. McDonald was left out of the Flames' lineup for the third, fourth and fifth games, but with Calgary leading the series three wins to two, head coach Terry Crisp felt that if the Flames were to win the championship, McDonald deserved to be in the game. Crisp's decision paid dividends, as midway through the sixth game, McDonald stepped onto the ice after serving a penalty to join Hakan Loob and Joe Nieuwendyk in a three-on-one rush toward the Montreal goal. Loob passed the puck up to Nieuwendyk, who saw a streaking McDonald coming up the right side of the ice. McDonald received the pass then shot the puck over Montreal goaltender Patrick Roy's glove to give the Flames a 2–1 lead. Doug Gilmour added two goals, and the Calgary Flames won the game 4–2 to win the franchise's first Stanley Cup championship.

Tonight Kathleen and I went to a remarkably muggy and quite long (10 innings) Tigers game. They were celebrating the Negro Leagues this weekend, and so the first 1k people through the door got these neat Detroit Stars caps, as they were the Detroit Negro League back in the day. Oh, and we won with a walk-off home run at the bottom of the 10th.
