The ACES is a pan-European competition among companies spun out from universities – to recognise the best academic entrepreneurs from across all technology disciplines. The competition is open to entrepreneurs in the European Union and countries affiliated with European Union’s 7th Framework Programme for research, including Israel and Russia. In 2011, the ACES drew nominations from Europe to Bashkorostan and culminated in an awards ceremony hosted by the ETH Zurich.

This is my first time trying to do anything other than a standard jack-o-lantern. I didn't use a stencil. This was all free-hand.

Dr. Bart Ehrman, a best-selling author and frequent guest on the Colbert Report, spoke at University of the Pacific about the evidence that suggest most of the New Testament is forged and wasn't written by the people they are attributed to. It was a full-house.

Hands tell a lot about a story- here Bart gestures to give the audience a sense of how Tapulous started it's business. His transparency and openess is very refreshing.
In this ZURB Soapbox, Bart talks about his company Tapulous, which has emerged as an early leader in the iPhone application market thanks to clever apps like Tap Tap Revenge and their Twitter client Twinkle. But like every startup, it's not all roses. Bart shares lessons on the apps that didn't work and thoughts about his young company's rocky road to its current success.
The ZURB Soapbox lecture series is a new venture ZURB is embarking on where we invite entrepreneurs, designers, managers, movers, shakers and friends of ZURB to speak to a like-minded audience and spar with them afterward.
ZURB is a close-knit team of interaction designers and strategists that help companies design better (www.zurb.com).
I met Vic Silayan's brother, Bart, during the premiere of Vic's documentary in 1985. Bart was an engineer and together with his younger brother, Ren, they ran the company, Allied Metals. After Vic died, I met Bart again at a gathering hosted by Virgie Moreno at Cafe Orfeo in Malate to honor the memory of Vic. At that gathering, Bart taught me how to drink scotch. This picture was taken at his home in Quezon City.
