Se trata de un bar que abrió en 1968 aprovechando y readaptando toda la decoración de una antigua tienda modernista de paraguas y abanicos fundada a principios del siglo XX. Esta tienda se llamaba Gallés y estaba situada en la calle Arcs 5 de Barcelona.

En 1967 se decidió derribar el edificio y por lo tanto se tuvo que cerrar la tienda. El propietario vendió la decoración del establecimiento al decorador y escenográfo Joseph M. Espada que adaptó toda la decoración para un local más pequeño destinado a ser un bar.

is a goose which breeds in Central Asia in colonies of thousands near mountain lakes and winters in South Asia, as far south as peninsular India. It lays three to eight eggs at a time in a ground nest.

The summer habitat is high altitude lakes where the bird grazes on short grass. The species has been reported as migrating south from Tibet, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia before crossing the Himalaya.

Karol and I stopped by the Frolic Room to check out the fab Hirschfeld mural of old time Hollywood stars that lines one wall of this long, narrow, 80 year old bar. Outside, one patron thought we were tourists and happily told us the bar's history. He was disappointed to hear that we were locals, and that I had a drink or two here back in my nightclubbing days.
