Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island along Maine’s Frenchman Bay. It serves as a gateway to the mountains and cliffs of neighboring Acadia National Park. Towering over the park, Cadillac Mountain has trails and views of the town, the bay and the Cranberry Islands. Sand Beach is ringed by mountains. From the town pier, the Shore Path winds along the bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Porcupine Islands.
These are photos of Bar Tailed Godwits. They have what might be the most difficult migration route of any bird. They winter in New Zealand and summer in Alaska. While maybe not the longest distance, it has to be the most difficult. The spring migration flies non-stop from New Zealand to to mud flats in the Yellow Sea, then the short hop to west coastal Alaska, then in the fall they fly non-stop from Alaska to New Zealand, a flight that can cover 10 days without a break and 8000 miles.
I understand they are starting to become endangered due to the decline of the mud flats in the Yellow Sea.

A young Slovak architect Jakub Hložník converts in his free time old bedding commodes and radio recorders from the mid-60s of the 20th century to the stylish bars with modern LED lighting. The new-look stations for alcohol can evoke the authentic party atmosphere during mixing and serving drinks, not to mention their popularity with friends. He inserts mirrors into the structure for better light dispersion, and moreover, they can change colors. He manually draws different inscriptions on the furniture and decorates them with original details.
This beautiful renovated Slovak bedding commode is from 1965. Some original parts were replaced with new ones. The inner is lining with leatherette panels with gold studs. The top is decorated with two switches with five colored bulbs that lit independently or are turned while opening and closing the top door. Real gold dollar coins with portraits of five US presidents are attached to the front part.

Ok, this is NOT an optical illusion! The magazine Texas Monthly described it best when they said:
"San Antonio’s Liberty Bar is a landmark for many reasons: it has been in continuous operation since 1890 and the building has been owned by the same family for just as long. But also the Liberty Bar has a certain status as one of the world’s “leaning” landmarks, perhaps eclipsed only by the Tower of Pisa. Thanks to a flood in the 1920s, the Liberty (then the Liberty Schooner Saloon) took on a westward tilt that it maintains to this day. Occasionally a concerned patron of the restaurant will report the tilt to the city’s building inspection squad, says Liberty Bar owner Dwight Hobart, but each inspection arrives at the same verdict: the building is in fine shape."
This is really best viewed in the larger sizes.

An unusual occurance , we did this job back in January /February this year , and my next project was only a short distance from this one . So i took the rare oppourtunity to take a few shots of the Admunsons for the company shortly before the bar opened one morning .
They brew thier own beer , two draught and one bottled , as well as having a huge selection of beers from around the world .
There is a beer menu to look through and prices range from 75kr to 248kr which is way ,way out of my league price wise.
They also serve some great food .
