Rechts ist noch eine der Wassersperren zu sehen, die die DDR 1962 errichtete, nachdem das Ost-Berliner Ausflugsschiff Friedrich Wolf über den hier mündenden Landwehrkanal nach West-Berlin geflüchtet war. Berlin 2018.
On the right side still are the water barriers standing that German Democratic Republic built 1962 after the pleasure vessel Friedrich Wolf escaped here through the Landwehr Channel to the western part of Berlin. Berlin 2018.

One of the most interesting things i have seen this time in London were the Thames Barriers. I went with a ship from Greenwich to that technical marvel and could see them through this way very close. It was also a fantastic trip passing the beautiful skyline of the Docklands and i could stop myself taking photographs...
Please look at the photo before to have an idea of the dimension of these barriers.
The world is full of barriers...some physical...some legal.....some naturally formed by people about other people...they can be the biggest barriers of them all

The Thames Barrier is the world's second-largest movable flood barrier and is located downstream of central London, United Kingdom.
In this photograph, you can also see Canary Wharf, the new Cable Cars and The O2 (The Millennium Dome) in the background.

A total of 12 barrier vehicles have been used including 4 mk1 coaches, the unit on transfer was 9 car 345019
I stopped by the lake for a sandwich and did a few shots whilst there, still hard to beat this location along this road.
