Taken an hour before sunset in Seattle, WA USA during an evening stroll through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, also known as Ballard Locks to the locals.

Taken at the Ballard locks, where the fish aren't. I'm not sure how to go about finding exactly when the fish are supposed to be going through, and even with the supplied material I fail to spot them. They had the water flowing wildly today from the lake, and I had a great view looking down from one of the walkways.

Ballard Locks

This building which was completed in 1916 as the headquarter for the Hiram Chittenden locks located in Ballard WA USA a community of Seattle, it also known as the Ballard Locks.
This is a must go to for a photographic safari the locks are interesting there is also a botanical garden and plenty of waterfowl to keep a photographer busy for a few hours.
An iconic view of the M/V Sealth and the Seattle skyline as the M/V Sealth nears its final destination, Lake Union Drydock. The Sealth with be in drydock for nine weeks for maintenance.
Week 21 | Your Neighbourhood
We reside nearby a large colony of Great Blue Herons. There are currently 44 nested pairs living here at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle, Washington. The one day I decide to take my daily walk, I didn't bring my better camera, but I did manage to capture this heron taking flight a mere several feet from me only to land in the cluster of trees a few hundred yards away above the water.
The Friday before Seafair is a busy day as boats line up in the large lock to head into the lake for the event
Note to self: should have switched to the ultrawide lens!

The place mat was made in photoshop with photographs I took in Elliot Bay and the Ballard Locks, Seattle. I photographed the shot glass and used ps to place it on the mat.
