in a large bowl place margarine and milk and cream them together. add half of the sugar and beat well to combine. add remaining ingredients and continue to beat until light & fluffy.

(i, on the other hand, went ahead and threw all the ingredients together, beat the mix with a handheld mixer and it came out great.)

Not as nice as the others, though....

Needs more pastry! I went all "professional" and made the pastry thin... and now there isn't enough! The thick lemon ones were nicer.

Baked Apples with Salted Caramel and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - L'Ecailleur du bistrot, 22 rue paul bert, 750011, Paris

Finished this one. Some collected American holly from Delaware, baked to add some color. A small crack in the bowl opened up during the bake; ultimately, I opted to fill it. Wanted a darker color on the handle; this is a blend of RMP turquoise and OFMP Pitch Black. Also used Ultra Bond to make the paint a little more resilient. Finished in tung oil. I had intended to make a spoon and a pen as a thank you for the homeowner who made the wood available on the side of the road; this one may be for him.

I recently don't really see trucks of a baked sweet potato vendor.

It’s been a while since I saw it.

But it was a little bit gaudy than trucks I have seen.

This fun zipper pouch pencil case is made from a vintage tea towel with a baking design on one side and repurposed denim jeans on the other side. It is lined with fabric from a repurposed blue cotton tablecloth. It also features a brown ribbon wrist strap!

This zipper pouch pencil case is my own pattern, wider at the base makes it roomier inside. It measures 6" wide and 5" high.

Baked Eggs @ Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf

Madeleines with honey

1 cup flour (120 gr)

2 eggs

7 Tbsp butter (100 gr)

1/4 cup honey (70 gr.)

2 Tbsp sugar (30 gr.)

1 tsp baking powder

optional: orange flower extract (a few drops)

1/2 tsp salt

Break the eggs in a bowl, add the sugar, salt (and a drop of extract if using) and whisk.

In a separate small bowl mix honey and butter and soften on low in the microwave (a few seconds). Add to the eggs slowly mixing in in batches. Gently mix in the flour and baking powder.

Refrigerate the mix overnight.

Heat the oven at 400F. Meanwhile coat the madeleine molds with melted butter (or use an oil spray). Add the batter by the tablespoon-ful to the madeleine-mold holes. Bake for about 5 minutes, then turn the oven down to 350F and bake about 5 more minute, or until golden (do NOT overcook). Unmold. If desired, dust with powder sugar.

Having tried the most perfect little food when I was in England this past spring, and being that the I have a primal urge to make everything from scratch, I decided it was time to make my own.

This is actually my second attempt. The first was about a week earlier and I forgot to photodocument the event. The first batch was chicken, and were okay, but this batch came out far better. I made three varieties - ground beef, ground beef with tomato sauce, and beans.

For those who don't know what pasties are, they're like American Hot Pockets, only fresh, homemade, with real quality ingredients and not in your freezer section, therefore a million times better.
