it had to be the MSH moving to actually do it. Relatively not too messy, because due to a change in weather conditions ( *hisses*) had to dig up a bigger bag. 4 lipbalms and one lipstick., honestly had no idea, and really this is sort of the light and clean handbag contents version.
I didn't want to rip any more seams than necessary, so here's what I did to give this bag more structure: I used Pellon craft fuse on the purse outer top pieces. The Pellon website noted that you can actually apply two layers for added stiffness, so that's what I did. Then I cut extra lining pieces from stiff cotton canvas and sewed the pieces to the wrong sides of the lining (which I'd already sewn together). From that point, I simply sewed the bag back together as instructed. I love the finished bag!!
I just love the pattern of this bag (Made by Rae Hoekstra)!
This bag was so cheap to make, let's see:
- Outside fabric: from a sale at a home-decoration store, approx. 25 cents. (10 xxl-pieces for only 5 euros! Used half a piece)
- Lining: left-overs from a friend, 0 cents
- batting: thriftstore, let's say 10 cents? not more anyway.
- button on flower: 25 cents
- snap: if it's 1 cent, it's much.
- thread: 25 cents?
Total: approx. 86 euro-cents (US$1,18)
Look! It'll even hold some baby stuff!

I barely carry anything with me. D:
I'm one of those people who accumulates a heap of junk whilst I'm out but empties it out of my bag pretty soon after I get home. xD
Oh, and usually my camera's in here too but I needed it to take this picture! (;
This photo shows the meandering quilting I did on the back of the bag, including the pocket. One can also see the slip pockets in the lining. Not shown is the long zippered pocket also in the lining.
The front of the bag is shown here: www.flickr.com/photos/allthatpatchwork/3992973061/
A drawstring pouch combining crocheting, knitting and cotton print fabric.
This bag has dark, muted colors with delicate flowers growing in the shadows. It is like a special place that you have found on your walk in the forest. When I was a little girl I used to have this kind of hiding places.
Height from the center point of the bottom to the top edge: appr. 8 inch
Circumference: appr. 8 inch
The bottom of the bag is crocheted from estonian wool.
The middle part is knitted from estonian wool.
The top is sewn from cotton fabrics.
The string is knitted i-cord, felted for durability.
With padded shoulder strap showing.
This is actually a "women's tackle bag", found in the fishing section of Walmart for under $30, but it fit my need perfectly. For more than a year, I've been looking for a camera bag to meet the following requirements: (1) hold 60D with battery grip and lens, plus another lens and flash, (2) light in color, and (3) not expensive.
(You don't have to live long in a hot climate to realize black camera bags are a bad idea.)

A beaded bag patterned after the beautiful Botticelli Venus. I took the image and put it into a Beadscape program, then cropped the image and altered the colors. I used that pattern to create the bag. It's about 4.5 inches by 3.5 inches, done in peyote stitch with delica beads, lined inside with black silk.
Photos of a leather bag I made for my bicycle. I wanted something like this but couldn't find anything I liked. So I just made my own. I can hold a lock, my phone, wallet, or whatever. And it's thin enough it doesn't affect use of the bike.
Lightweight, with nothin but pockets! This bag has three pockets. an open one on the back, and 2 front zippers pockets. It lays flat, and has no opening other than the pockets. It is very convenient for travel, and is one of a kind!
