Backyard birds from brief morning stand visit.

 

Saw three.

Pics of a neighborhood juvie Cooper's Hawk that terrorizes the neighbor (and the backyard) birds. Almost everyday, even though I don't see him (or her), I hear the local alarms going off (Blue Jays).

What a great end of the day. First Swallowtail Kites when leaving Gatorland.

Then a Barn Owl flying 10 ft above my head and finally a Great Horned Owl right in my Backyard. Turned out quite well - considering that I had to guesstimate the focus and was shooting ISO 1600 handheld at 600mm f8 with +3 EV and the Flash to max...

Nothing makes a backyard like barbed wire. That says come and play in me! I'll keep you safe...and maybe harm you, maybe.

Don't jump off the tall walls, either!

On Sunday the Backyard Fox was around in the morning when I woke up, taking a nap in the back yard. The ears perked up on the first shot, then the eyes opened for the second...

 

Best viewed large.

The finches are fun to watch when there are many of them crowding the feeder. They get pretty nasty. Note the squirrel damage to the feeder. I didn't notice it until I reviewed these photos.

This owl swooped in and kept looking at me. I had to take his picture...
