This is a snapshot of the final design we're trying to achieve this year. The design of the deck was done with Google's Sketchup (http://sketchup.google.com) application.

Pics of a neighborhood juvie Cooper's Hawk that terrorizes the neighbor (and the backyard) birds. Almost everyday, even though I don't see him (or her), I hear the local alarms going off (Blue Jays).

What a great end of the day. First Swallowtail Kites when leaving Gatorland.

Then a Barn Owl flying 10 ft above my head and finally a Great Horned Owl right in my Backyard. Turned out quite well - considering that I had to guesstimate the focus and was shooting ISO 1600 handheld at 600mm f8 with +3 EV and the Flash to max...

Sunday afternoon backyard birds.

The backyard has 3 vege garden areas. Anything that isn't a vege garden is weed matted under the bark for low maintenance. There is a compost bin, outdoor table, a cranberry tree and lots of strawberries. Lawns are maintained as part of the rent. The back yard gets morning sun and end of day sun as well.

Just sitting in someone's backyard. Okay maybe it was trespassing to go INTO the yard, but there were no signs, so I took it as fair game!

The finches are fun to watch when there are many of them crowding the feeder. They get pretty nasty. Note the squirrel damage to the feeder. I didn't notice it until I reviewed these photos.

This part of the hill doubles as the snowboard run in winter.

Some new planter boxes and raised beds in the backyard.
